There are two of them over there....both (dark grey and black) are sold already but if you wanted to see them in person.....

Was just over there on my lunch hour.....i'm thinking the first thing to remove is the awful chunk of plastic on the rear bumper.....

I believe only Canadian models get that nasty chunky piece in the back. Runs the look of the car in the back. Hopefully there is an easy way to take it out.

It was a two piece molding, so it should be easy to remove......on a black car, it looked good......not so much on the grey one.

so apparently after speaking with one of the sales guys at hyatt Mitsubishi, the price of the evo will be ..... $43,000 before freight and tax for the base model GSR. :thumbsdow

I was looking at these cars myself...

The best thing is that if you want to buy a simpler Lancer....

there are all the aftermarket parts for the EVO X that are bolt ons to the Lancers

If anyone needs a good sales guy Todd at Platinum really helped me out :)

I wish I would afford one of these right now :bullshit:

Thats less then for a WRX STi. Whats the issue?

k_dawg
02-04-2008, 04:36 PM
base model GSR does not have half the features of the sti, if you wanted to match the features of the sti to the evo you would have to move to the MR or MR-premium model, which is more than the sti, but the evo does look nicer than the sti.

The reason why I was saying :thumbsdow is because it sucks for us how we pay so much more for all the models than the states.

MSRP is $41k. Maybe they're marking it up.

I called around the dealerships here and two of them were cool, but one guy tried to front like the Evo was too good of a car to offer for test drives. Then that leads into a string of cheesy sales lines about how the car sells itself... I might just buy in the States for the customer service. Over there, they pretty much beg you to take their cars for test drives.

43,000 for the GSR is more than the STI. I just picked up an 08 Sti and Canada only gets the fully loaded STI's (Thats NAV, BBS, heated Seats, Mirrors, and wipers) and ticket price was 44,000 a got him to come down 2,000 so it was 43,000.

If the GSR is 43,000 a guaranty the MR will be about 45,000 Plus with out NAV putting the Evo at a much higher price (Yes I know you get the cool new clutch system) but the evo will be more then the STI fully loaded

i had just talked to my godfather who's a salesperson at platinum and he said that the MSRP for the Evo X GSR is $43,093.

if you are looking at mitsubishis, there is an older salesman that works at hyatt that i highly recommend. i cant remember his name anymore. his desk is at the far right corner from the door in the showroom iirc. nicest salesman ive ever dealt with, and hes an older dude so hes not one of those hotshot young snakeoil greasers.

When I was in school (and I still am), 44-2 equalled 42. Now, I'm not sure if these "numbers" are different where you go/went to school, but trust me on this one, the correct answer would be either
a) Original price of 45,000
b) Discount of 1,000
c) Final price of 42,000
d) None of the above: you're just strange ;)

Went over lunch today (I know the used car manager) and we saw the black one up close and personal (it wasnt in PDI or detailed yet) so got to sit in that. The Graphite grey one in the showroom is detailed and ready to go so it is all locked up and you cant see it.

Checking with insurance tomorrow as I put a hold on the next white GSR that is coming in. As long as it doesn't spike more than 25% we are going to have a tough decision these next two weeks!

Also MSRP is just a hair under 43 all in.

One thing I'd say is a negative is you have to look display to see what gear you're in if you're not memorizing it. Another is you can't downshift or upshift by skipping gears but that's not a big deal.

I don't really miss the clutch much. I'd recommend everyone go and drive one of these, it's a blast overall.
The only time I was able to skip gears was going from even to odd (6 to 3) or odd to even (5 to 2). This was in my bro's GTI DSG.

My brother has an A3 S-line with 3.2L V6 and DSG and he says he doesn't miss the manual either. I've driven his but not for prolonged periods of time. I wish I didn't have to spring for the MR to get it but I guess you gotta pay to play.

I drive in rush hour every day and I don't miss the manual one bit. When I want to have some fun I can use the paddles or the shift lever. Rev matching on D/S is awsome too.

I was worried I'd get bored of it but that's not the case. It's not for everyone as a lot of people HAVE to have a 3rd pedal but for me I love it. I can't really see buying another manual if the same model has a dual clutch option.

I'd like to get some of the big-ass GC style foglights for my STI, but haven't seen any for sale anywheres..

You have to get JDM.

http://www.gruppe-s.com/Subaru/subext.htm Scroll down about 1/5 of the page.

I am pretty sure you have to cut the bumper or something. Or maybe it is that you can't run an FMIC with those lights. Can't remember.

But at least those covers were color matched on the old STI's. The new ones are black unpainted plastic. It's the kind of look you see on base model cars where fog lights are on the loaded versions.

BTW: I went to Platinum to view the EVO's. They are both boring charcoal grey but looked very nice with the exception of the rear bumper abortion. What the hell is that all about?

I am joking around. It is probably just a cost saving measure. Honda doesn't have fog lights standard on most of their cars, you have to get an Acura for that.

Given that the STI now has navigation and a sunroof, I don't think weight reduction is anything the engineers were thinking about.

Actually, it's more like you not being able to stay true to yourself. No fucking integrity. That's you. You might as well take me off your ignore list now. But anyway, thanks for the new sig, you bad ass thug you. BTW, I don't doubt that you'd follow through on your threats either. You'd be dumb enough to. I can see it now, on your way to home from dinner with the wife: "excuse me for a second honey, I have to go key that guy's car there because he might be this dude that just pushed me tooooooo far...ON THE INTERNET!!!!" Then a couple days later we'll see a thread on Beyond from someone like 4doorj being like, "WTF someone keyed my car" and you'll just have to be a quiet little bitch about your idiocy.

   You crazy fucking lunatic...:nut: :nut:

You know what business is to me? It's getting educated, securing my future, working out, making money, spending time with my woman, having fun with friends, enjoying my hobbies...and your business is just being angry at some guy over the internet? Your life is pathetic.

edit: I feel bad for you, so to help you along in your e-thugging quest, I've posted pictures of my current ride. Click my gallery button for pics of my Subaru.

I don't know what was up with that dude. He pops into an EVO/IS thread and starts talking shit about my old SRT-4.:dunno: I don't even know who he is.

That dude just compared how just like you think an IS350 is nothing more than a camry, most the world saw your SRT4 as nothing more than a neon. Not being able to accept that you went into some Jim Lehey rant.
