Don't believe everything on that page, a lot of those are worst case scenarios.
I know in Finland and Sweden the driver is usually fined, and put on probation, some have to do community service, only 1/3 of cases end with imprisonment. There is no automatic 1 year prison/hard labour sentence.

Hmm I'm from EL Salvador and this is the first time I hear about firing squad execution for drunk driving, I think that was in the past not present:dunno:
