View Full Version : What concerts have you been to?

Melinda
02-05-2008, 01:46 PM
I think we did a thread like this a while back, but there are new members and probably new concerts for people to list.

So what concerts have you seen? Which ones were your all time favorites? Who would you absolutely KILL to see? (Preferably people who are still alive and singing) It'd be interesting to see the collection on here!

I guess I'll start. My list will be a long one! There's a * beside the ones that rank at the top of my list.

*Garth Brooks
*Spice Girls (x2)
*Michael Buble
*NSYNC
Reba McEntire
Paul Brandt (x4)
Terri Clark (x2)
Dixie Chicks (x2)
Rascal Flatts (soon to be x2)
Great Big Sea (x2)
Backstreet Boys (x2)
Christina Augilera w/ pussycat dolls
Britney Spears
Blue Man Group (x2)
Cher
The Nylons
John McDermott
Nelly Furtado (x2)
Tim McGraw
Simple Plan
Diana Ross (coming this May)
And if we're counting them, Raffi and Fred Penner when I was a kid

Musicals (I guess they're sort of concerts)
- Lion King
- Wizard of Oz
- Cats (x2)
- Les Miserables
- RENT (soon to be x2)
- Westside Story
- Phantom of the Opera

I feel like I'm forgetting some, but that's the general list. I spend so much time and money on shows (both music and theatre) that I dont think I'll ever remember them all. Haha some people smoke and drink, I'm a fiend for performance.

The only concert I still really want to see is Melanie C's solo show, but it looks like I'll miss my shot this time around since the only NA show she has schedulled in the future is in new york later this week. There are others I would like to eventually see, but nothing that is a MUST SEE at the moment. Spice Girls and Michael Buble pretty much took care of those last few MUST SEE concerts on my list lol.

wow I'm jealous of some of the shows people have seen on here hahah christ I hate the fact that new brunswick never got anything good when i lived there.

But I did see Chixdiggit in Moncton at a skate park show.

And since coming to Alberta I have seen the Tea Party which was amazing.

I would love to see Alexisonfire but would rather see a City and Color show though. And Rise Against I heard was amazing live too so wouldn't mind seeing them at some point.

My Concert List is kind of odd:

Engelbert Humperdink
Neil Diamond
Nickelback
Fleetwood Mac
Lindsey Buckingham
Bryan Adams
Elton John
Billy Joel
Bon Jovi

Engelbert and Neil Diamond was pretty boring for me, I saw them when I was pretty young. Neil Diamond was in his late 50's but still thought he was the womanizer he once was. Pretty Funny stuff.

I don't like Nickelback, but their concert was better than I thought it would be.

Fleetwood Mac was excellent, as was Lindsey Buckingham (who I saw in a small venue in Vancouver pretty close up)

Bryan Adams was one of the best, He really felt connected to the audience, and the performance felt raw but really showed how much talent he actually has.

Elton and Billy were great, giving the edge to Billy Joel, lots of energy, and pretty funny.

Bon Jovi probably the best live act. Everyone needs to see Bon Jovi live, you can tell their experience from Stadiums etc, really know how to work a crowd. Jon sounded great, and Richie still shreds, pretty awesome.

I really want to see U2, Coldplay, Eagles, Chili Peppers, Oasis, Duran Duran, The Cult, Madonna, Tool, Phil Collins, Daft Punk, Blue Man Group, Prince, Seal.

I saw it in Vancouver- I picked up 2 tickets off of ebay and flew westjet out there for the evening.

And yeah familiar to millions was not their greatest live album. They did not play gas panic but they started off the show with Fuckin in the Bushes.

But in all honesty, they were sober as shit and dead on that night....it was one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen.

The funniest thing is that they do not have a huge amount of stage energy / presence. The energy is in the music and combined with an ecstatic crowd, it was surreal. Every guitar solo Liam would put his hands behind his back and just stare straight ahead with his sunglass on- the crowd went nuts!

They also ended the show with Jet playing My Generation by the Who- Liam nailed the vocals perfectly....killer song to end a killer show with.

I'm definitely going to make seeing one more Oasis show a priority before they get old.
