Well I think the title of the topic describes best on what I'm trying to do. Any ideas?

I would find a broken office chair, and steel the wheels and the mechanics off the bottom of it, and try to attach some how to your ctr seat. May need to weld something up too?

Contact them directly, normally for about $215 i think i read somehwere extra, you can get the office chair addition for any chair.

They will have more info if you contact them, and the best part is no custom work most likely.

I was planning on doing this and never got around to it. I was going to go to go to IKEA or staples and buy a cheap task chair then use it for the base. Mounting it shouldn't be too tough - a metal plate or maybe even some 2x4's and some screws and that's all you need.

If you go to DTP they have a booth setup with those chairs/bases already made. IIRC go for $200 or so. Might be more cost effective than using Recaros.

If there is a bunch of interest maybe I can setup a group buy for the chairs and we can get them at a wicked price. So far I've already got 4 chairs between 2 people. If interested PM me so I know a rough number and I will try and get more details + get approved by rage.

Make sure you only post if your willing to follow through, I cannot put an order through for 50 chairs for beyond and have 5 sell. You will be required to pay atleast 50% before the order is sent out. Depending on the size of the order and the amount of people, you may have to pay full price before.

I'm willing to follow through, depending on the price of course.

If you guys are going to commit to a group buy, note that these won't be your average $100 Walmart office chairs. Look to spend somewhere around 1000-1500, depending on material. With that said, if you are serious, let J know...

I made a crx si seat into a computer chair years ago, don't have any pics.

Took me about 10 mins, drilled some flat bar, welded it up, used an ikea chair base.

I was conditional on prices too. But anything north of $1k and I'm out too. I could get a pair of ITR Recaro office chairs made for less than that.

^+1,

Could you find out how much the base is?

J what are you talking about here for $215 bucks

J@Tuner

The base and only the base.

As you can see here....

http://sportscar-parts.com/mivastore/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=sportscar&Product_Code=MMSROFFICEBASE

No seat, $375, just for the base.

If you guys want to build one for yourself, go ahead, but if you are interested in buying a production chair with full tilt and adjusting (some even have lumbar), properly made, then please PM me.

$1500 is a lot cheaper than what I found. These guys quoted me @ $3000+shipping.

Yup, the boys at Tunerworks that have Sparco seats paid over $2500 for theirs, not cheap by any means.

Still working on a good source for a volume order, will keep everyone updated.

Yup, if everyone can post pictures of the style the want or a few choices of the chair they want then I can get us updated pricing for volume orders.

Mate just a bit of advice, 50% isn't good enough. Make sure you get all the money before you order. I brought loads of stuff from england when I came to visit, everyone and I mean EVERYONE pulled out or wouldn't contact me or pick up, with the except of one member who I couldn't get back to. And most of it was Absinth.
Infact if I were you, only let long established members order, alot safer that way IMO.
