Anybody come across with a vehicle running these exhaust cutouts

(Electronic Valve Control (EVC) valve allows for user controlled exhaust sound levels with touch of a switch )

I've heard a lot about them on a couple of different forums, anybody have any idea if these are legal in Canada, or if shops would refuse to install them?

Here are some clips..

Yes they're legal. They're great if you're living somewhere with very strict emissions laws because you can run a quiet, legal exhaust and then just pop open the cutout for the track. Here in Alberta though I'd rather just get a well flowing exhaust with a couple resonators.

Keep in mind that they're positioned at an EXTREMELY harsh environment and, from what I hear, they tend to leak. It may only be a little bit but it's enough to increase volume and force emissions failure. I also read that they don't tend to last more than a couple years, though I haven't actually found proof of them dying on people.

http://www.rogueengineering.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=XPIPE&Category_Code= I should mention that the ones I have experience (If you can call it that) with are on/off. I'm not sure if having the thing 50% open has any negative side effects but I can imagine that if there isn't enough room for all your exhaust to exit the cutout that there's gonna be some strange pressure changes in the exhaust. Good, bad, I don't know but it's something to look in to.
