I was, for about a semester. Then realized it was full of geeks and ugly women. Switched back to geology.

BAH! Geophysics is awesome.

There are a few guys here in the geoph program or recent grads Nav13 and TheOneAndOnly are the only others i can think of.

Don't Geophysics grads all get to drive 'rarris in like 2 years?

HA! no! Geophs will start between probably 48-65$ depending on what company or aspect of the business they get into and get to 100k in about 5 yrs, topping out at around 180 base salary for sr people. Bonuses and stock options are what get your the 'rarris but that is more luck than anything else.

I wish i did know who those guys were, 'cuz i'm involved with recruiting at my company and it would be nice to know which resumes can go directly in the garbage can and to pass the info onto other colleagues.

Man how can you say glgy>goph, the labs are brutal, yay lets stare at rocks for 3 hrs:thumbsdow , well atleast 201/203/381 were like that. Glgy definently has the hotter women though.

Would you rather stare at interesting rock formations/outcrops or ground penetrating radar/resistance testing printouts looking for anomalies? Yeah... thats why GLGY > GOPH.

Too bad there is a lot of women in geology who are tree hugging feminists, or ugly lesbos, but we look past these shortcomings.

While I was some what serious about how boring geology labs are I know thats not all you guys do and yea I would rather look at ground penetrating radar or seismic shots to find anomalies, I guess thats why I am in geophysics.

I can see what you mean about the labs, they are PRETTY AWFUL, especially when you're looking at think sections and shit like that; the lectures are usually interesting tho. Although, I don't mind crystal structure, ladies like it too.
