View Full Version : my new 1975 Cadillac DeVille

so i just baught this 75' Coupe DeVille. 91 original miles on it. original everything. i like the white and black interior, no a big fan of the CREAM PUFF exterior but that will change probably to a light biege color.

future upgrades are 2 inch white wall tires, re-do the leather on the doors and the front seats. and just clean up the moldings and bumpers a little bit.

but anyway it feels like riding in a airplane, so comfortable, its hard to say awake.

i am amazed at the techno stuff this thing has....automatic climate control, power truck (it closes with a motor), ride hight control, teloscopic steering, automatic headlights ( when it gets dark they turn on ).

i worked at gsl chev city in the summer and im pretty sure this car is the same one that one of the managers found in someones storage. it had super low miles and was mint, they just had to change all the fluids etc.. and it ran like new.

do you know the guy you bought it off of? (if you dont mind me asking)

originaly was baught in vancouver by an old lady, then this old guy baught it from her and drove it up here. his name is eric.

i still have the manual and A track.

i will most likely keep it looking original but change the tires and wheels, to 54 cadillac wire wheels and big white walls, LED tail lights like the new cadillacs, nothing to serious tho.

Is that 91 original miles or 91,000 original miles?

Mr_ET
02-17-2008, 10:50 PM
wondering that as well lol.

All you need now is some airbags, gold rims and a couple of dices on the rearview.

It's gotta be 91,000 because he said the guy drove it from Van to Calgary and that would be more than 91 miles.

500 Cubic Inches!!!!! My faves of the decade are the 71, 72, 75, and 76. I passed up a chance to buy a 1976 4 door hardtop fleetwood 3 years ago, regret not buying it. Sweet ride man, I love GM land yachts

Largest production motor in car ever :bigpimp: Massive torque in that 8.2L mill, but horsepower numbers are low. Keep the motor OG. It's fucking 8.2 Liters!

Thats what I was thinking, as well as, as mint as that car is, the drivers seat is very worn for a measily 91miles on it. :dunno:

you could probably re-sell it for a decent chunk of coin to a collector.
But I were you I'd swap out that gargantuous 500cu engine for a little (GM perfomance parts) Ram Jet 350. 350hp/350 torque. It'll tow that thing around nicely. Fuel injected and turn key for about $6300 :dunno:

Nice car though.

That engine would drop nicely into a Porsche 911 (http://frankenswap.blogspot.com/2006/08/caddy-powered-911.html).

I never thought I'd say this since I don't like any American classics......

That car is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen. Why take an enormusly large and extremely heavy luxury car and make it into a 1/4 mile car? honestly? I know the engine bay is big enough to throw a party in, but thats absurd. Here, lets make an M1 tank into an autocross machine :dunno: I'm sure that would work great.

tons of metal both body & frame wise, heavy and bulky interior.... just... why?

^ it is, but the performance to dollar ratio is what makes it crazy. I'd love to see a school bus that spanks most of the cars at the track, but who has the time/patience/resources to make those "fast"?
Its pointless in all reality.

ya i dont plan on making it fast, thats why i have a blown mustang in the garage, just took it to banff today.....what a ride, both my friends fell asleep because it is so smooth and quiet. this car doesnt know the difference between hills and down hills. everyone is driving the same speed and then all i hear is cars downshifting while my car idles up the hill gaining speed, unreal the amount of power it has.

BTW half a tank from calgary to banff and back.

130 to fill the tank:banghead:

Destinova403
02-19-2008, 01:21 AM
Holy Crap thats more than my entire tank to get to banff... i can believe the ride being dope though... those things are such tanks.

dude you HAVE to throw bags on this car. hydros are useless, but bags to keep it really cleanly dropped. oh god, i love it just thinking about it! ddid you end up finding the fat whites for a good price?
