Following up on this thread:
http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20434

I phoned Photo Experts today and they have a few A70s in stock.

Whoever is interested in buying a camera, please reply to this thread or msg me. I need to know how many people will commit to a buy so that I can negotiate a price. Be sure to tell me what kind of accessories you need, as this could be a factor (i'm assuming most people will need a larger CF card than the 16mb included with the camera).

The A70 is the best camera you can get in terms of features and picture quality between $400 - $600.

Feel free to post or reply if there is any other camera that you want.

Hoping to get a Canon A70 (or A60?) with:

Bigger Flash card (128 or 256)
NiMH batteries and charger
Camera case

My commitment depends on the asking price. :)

i am in i think, pending the price.

i think walmart has it for $499? if so i am only in the group buy if we can get the camera itself for less than $450. i need to double check these prices though, and i can let you know asap what price it has to be lower than for me to be in the group buy.

wallmart has it for like 480ish....I know it is lower than major stores that have them for $499. Not that big of a savings, lol.

My commitment depends on the asking price. :) u should get a 256mb cf card cuz they usually cost about 15 bucks more than the 128mb card...and u should also get a canon a-series accessory kit, which includes a custom leather canon case for the camera and also panasonic nimh batteries+charger.

I talked to my dad today, and he said $460 is the lowest price that he can go. Retail on the camera is $499. It doesn't matter if it's a group buy or not, he can't drop the price any lower.

$460 isnt too bad at all. I paid $450 for mine a couple of months back, but that was with a online coupon of $50 at Staples.

Oh yea, if anyone wants it at that price (non group buy), PM me and I'll pass your name to my dad. He doesn't sell at that price to normal folks.

$460 is a good price for the A70, especially in store

The lowest price I've ever seen it was $405 at tigerdirect.ca, but at that price, it sold out in a matter of days...

Otherwise, as Akagi Redsuns said, the A70 can be bought for $450 from staples online by using the $50 off $300 coupon or other various online deals

He did offer some great discounts on accessories though.
