Im looking for a new laptop and so far am torn between these two. I was originally looking at apple but the m1330 is pretty sweet and is slightly cheaper. Dell also has hdmi and i dont really care if i have the apple OSX.

Opinions? why would you choose one over the other.

please dont just type dell/apple that doesnt mean anything.

its a laptop its going to be used for everything wth the exception of gaming. I will be streaming movies, which is why i like the HDMI feature.

If you want an all around good computer for the net, movies and music. typing documents and all that go with the mac. You won't have any trouble with it and you'll fall in love.

I just got the Dell 1330. Such a nice laptop. Took a very long time to decide which laptop to get. Read www.notebookreviews.com. HDMI is really good to have especially if you have an HD TV. Great way to show pictures, and movies. Oh the XPS looks soo much better IMO:thumbsup:

Mine is fully loaded so there is nothing else you can really get when ordering one. Mac book you can't customize it, and the O/S is too different for me to get use to. I've used it before but did not fall in love with it. Great for those graphic users.

Go with the Dell, see my post when I too was looking for which laptop to buy.

Here is the specs I got:

T7500
Slim and Light LED Display with VGA Webcam
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
250GB HD
128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 8400M GS
Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card
Built-in Bluetooth capability (2.0 EDR)
3 Year Next Busines Day Onsite/In Home Service and Technical Support
Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition
Biometric Fingerprint Reader

Not really much more to add to it as it is everything you can pick out.

not considering size, a fully loaded m1330's price can compare with a macbook pro
the m1330 would be close to 2g's, and the macbook pro with a student discount is only 1999
in a comparison to the features listed above, the macbook pro just doesn't have a biometric scanner. it already has bluetooth and a 8600gt video card, digital sound etc.
how the processor, hd, and wireless card (G/N) compare will have to wait for the macbook pro refresh. there's basically nothing I would want to add to a macbook pro other than wishing it was 12-13"

u don't have to care about osx, i consider it as a free option since u can install xp or vista on ur machine

can't think of a reason why i would need hdmi anyways, since the m1330 doesn't play bluray's or i'm not sure if it upscales to 1080p

i'm just waiting for the macbook pro refresh, and i'm not sure if the m1330's are using the new chipset now (but last i read it's an over $500 premium). go with at least 4mb cache tho, as well as upgrade to 4gb's ram urself
