Just saw a news report on Fox while flipping the channles.

they are complaining of 3.25 a gallon. just out of curiosity, did the math3.

3.25/G = which is about 0.86/L

To put that in perspective, at 103.4 /L (what i paid today) works out to be about 3.92/G

I wish gas prices were that low again.....

1) Gasoline is refined in the US so they've always had lower prices (by about 20c/L).
2) They're American.

everyone here was complaining when gas prices were 20 cents less than they are now, so it shouldnt be hard to see why.

:dunno: the oil is drilled from under our noses... shouldn't we get a backyard special?

Irving in NB also used to be the largest refinery I believe. They are also building another..

Keep in mind the price of the dollar as well, and the "income crisis".

Laugh.

No because we ship all the raw materials down to the United States to get refined at which point their value increases then they send it back up here to sell to us halpless customers. That's ok though the PC goverment has been lining the pockets of the Americans for years... There is no reason why we couldn't force the oil and gas companies to at least refine some of their oil locally.

They were complaining that it was 2.94 a gallon when I was down there, which I thought was awesome.

I think it was last may or maybe two years ago, but I was visiting the folks in saint john, filling up my mom's car at 1.39/L looking at the largest oil refinery in north america, shaking my head.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the taxes we pay on fuel.

Well.. The Alberta Clipper pipeline is supposed to be built right away here to take another million or so barrels to Chicago area to be refined.

On the bright side, Shell plans to build Scottford 2 (22-27billion$) and refine another 400,000 bbl locally. That should be alright :D
