Good that there will be a Ferrari dealer again in Calgary. It is long over due. Now people don't have to go to Vancouver or Ontario to get a new Ferrari.

I wonder what the ZR Auto owner guy thinks about this?

ZR, Kulu, wessiach etc. will have some stiff competition, ZR will especially lose out on service revenue, and they might have to reprice their overpriced cars :P

on a side note: when someone buys from Ferrari of Calgary, will they be paying MSRP. Since MSRP of a F430 in America is just 180K new, but sell for 350K, dunno how much msrp in Canada is:dunno:

Doesn't seem like people have trouble getting Ferraris in Calgary anyway. Although I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more on the roads now.

This is great. My boss has always want a Maserati but has refused to spend his money out of the province. Now he may actually do it. Although he hates Calgary too so you never know. lol

Either way, this should mean quite a few more nice cars all around AB. (I need a raise :( )

It actually isn't so much that he is anit Calgary or anywhere else, it is just that he is such a pro Edmonton guy. He makes millions a year in Edmonton and likes to put as much as possible back into the city.

You think that because Ferrari opens up a dealership, everyone will be flocking into their showrooms and ordering one? Any Calgarian who wants a Ferrari will buy one out of province and bring it back here. Just now it's much more convenient to do so.

Ferrari dealership opening =/= More Ferrari owners.

I disagree with that statment. There are alot of people that can afford Ferrari's, but are probably turned off the fact that they are not serviced by factory trained technicians. Now they can. I think there will be a jump in the number of Ferrari's in the city.

Ferrari isn't going to increase Canadian allocation because of the Calgary dealership.. the waiting list is still going to be several years, and it won't increase the total number of new Ferraris by any significant amount.

Sucks to be the owner of the dealership.. missed the boom. I'd be surprised if they can sustain the store.

I don't know anybody who gives a damn if its serviced by a factory trained technician or not - just that it's done properly.

Biggest turn-off is the fricken inflated prices here.

You might give a damn if your 400k car was serviced by someone who invalidated the warranty. $275 oil changes are a scam (and sending the car to Vancouver is a major pain in the ass), but it is way better than risking your warranty. Having a place to service the cars locally will be a huge benefit to the owners of cars under warranty. Ferraris are very fickle and really do need proper experience and equipment to service properly.

Pre-orders don't contribute to the bottom line of the business until the cars are delivered. There are lots of people on the "list", but we'll see what happens when it's time to step up ($$$) and actually place orders.

The bread and butter is supposed to service work and Maserati sales... the service is busy, but FoA is sucking fat donkey dick when it comes to Maser sales.

That is interesting. I know someone that went to test drive an 09 quattroporte two weeks ago and said he wasn't overly impressed with the dealership or the car so he didn't buy it. I was dissapointed because I wanted to drive the car but he said I wasn't missing anything. :(

"Masi sales sucking fat donkey dick", "unprofessional email".... Jeez this is a tough crowd...

I had never visited this thread before, somebody told me my Christmas card was up. Anyhow, I should probably offer some comments, mindful the lawyers they will sick on me if I reveal sensitive top secret Ferrari information; like the economy is in the toilet and it is hard to sell cars...

But the reason that I resigned had nothing to do with money or the cars that I had (or hadn't) sold. Well, I shouldn't say nothing, there is an inverse relationship between your income and the amount of compromise you are willing to put up with.

The truth is any idiot can sell a Ferrari, the hard part is keeping people happy, and doing justice to the brand. Maserati is different, they are nice cars, but it is a very competitive market segment.

Other than the cars, the other great part of the job were the customers who were, just about to a man (an a single woman), keen enthusiasts first, and rich second. I don't regret the year I spent there.

I can be contacted at [email protected]. I'm going to spend some time figuring out what i should do for 2009, but it will surely involve cars...

Cheers,
Lawrence

He drove the regular Quattroporte, not the S. He was interested in the S but they didn't have one to drive. His two biggest complaints were the lack of low end power and the cramped interior (especially in width). He did mention liking the sound. He also was unimpressed with the dealership and said they really should have built a brand new building.

His current vehicles are an 08 S550, 08 SL550, 09 XF Supercharged, and an 08 Range Rover supercharged. As you can tell all of his current vehicles have lots of low end power, especially the two supercharged ones. He currently has an 09 750 on order to replace the S550 and an 09 X5 to replace the RR (he loves the RR but refuses to buy another one now that they are owned by an Indian company lol). The QP was supposed to be the replacement for the XF, but now he is planning on keeping the XF until the end of next summer because he really loves it and says he has never owned a car that has received more compliments. The SL he plans on keeping for another summer.

I really was hoping he would hav bought the Quattroporte but he said it wasn't for him but maybe if he was my age he would like it more (he is 61). :dunno:

I wish I had his problems.
