Would I Be Insured???

Hey Guys,

Im just wondering if anyone knows how insurance would work for certain situations. I have my own insurance policy for my car, but if i were to drive someone else's would i be covered?

For example.

I have my own car with policy in my name.
I go out with a friend using his car, and when the day is done he is too intoxicated to drive. He would give me permission to drive his car, but if i should be involved in an accident would my insurance or his insurance cover the damage?

I know it may differ between insurance providers, but if anyone has some knowledge in this area it'd be very helpful.

I believe his insurance would cover it, as insurance covers the vehicle, not the driver (and as long as the driver has implied permission to drive), but I'll let one of the many pro's answer this one properly.

You insure the vehicle not the driver. as long as you have consent to drive your be ok.

My policy has a clause in it saying "No other male under the age of 25 permitted to drive"
