Chuck Cadman was ultimately responsible for his own decision.

Many people leave their jobs because they get a better offer or a large bonus somewhere else. Is that bribery? In the industry we call that poaching. What the Conservative (might have) offered is a chunk of money to "join them".

Chuck Cadman was an independent MP, its not like he was breaking ties with another party. The only people he had to answer for was his constituents and he probably felt that it was in his best interests to not take the money (if there even was any to begin with).

Call it a bribe if you want. Was it illegal? As long as the money came from private sources... I dont think so.

It's all a game. Liberal got no balls to call an election until taking down the conservative a few pegs. Just like the whole sponsorship deal took the liberal out but compare to that, this is peanuts.
