Anyone else ever run into this. I have a big order going in, in the states for some parts. The company is saying they can only do the order if I provide them a copy of photo ID, or a copy of the front and back of my credit card.

If I won't provide that they will charge me an amount around a dollar, and then I have to get back to them with the right amount, to verify that I know how much was charged to my card. And if I do that they can only ship USPS, so I don't screw them and not pay brokerages thru UPS or Fedex.

This whole deal seems pretty shitty, but it is a well liked site and widely used..

Wouldn't it actually be favourable for them to ship USPS instead of the other companies? Besides, how hard is it to go to your credit card statement online and get the verification code?

The only problem I have with USPS, is having it insured for the real value, I'll have to pay tax on that amount, which is ridiculous. 100's of dollars... This is one of those times where UPS is actually better.
