umm..yea...i need some help if anyone can

ok...i drive a 79 corvette....now....today it started not wanting to crank.....like....when i turn the key its getting no power anywhere....no radio,lights nothing.....if i let it sit for while it cranks up but the alternator is charging at 18 instead of 14......does anyone have any reason y it might be doing this? i was figuring a loose ignition wire, but the alternator charging at 18 wouldnt be a sign of that i wouldnt imagine...

possibly bad alternator or regulator? if its not to difficult to remove take it to CT or Autovalue and have it tested.

if no lights or anything turn on your battery is dead...so no power to starter either...

well..after re-wiring the ignition and everything....found out it was just the alternator....the voltage regulator went out.....now to just find out y all my alternators go out....this is like the 5th one this year....different brands too...
