I'd say South Park, they have the upper hand of being rated R though.

South Park is the shieeet, but eventually Cartmans whole attitude against jews gets boring after numerous episodes.

Southpark in the newer seasons. Southpark seems to make episodes that poke fun of the everyday shit we laugh at (Ike having sex with his teacher and everybodys reaction "...nice..." )

Southpark was only rated R this year , so I dont think that has anythign to do with it's success at all.

honestly i love all three shows, you can add futurama to that list, i can't wait until it comes back, also american dad deserves an honourable mention.

All 3 shows are completely different in their each way, but for me its a tie between family guy and south park, and i love the simpsons, esspecially the earlier seasons, i still watch it now and always will but its just not on the same level anymore

SOUTH PARK.
The writing on South Park is a lot better than the other shows.

SP but I do think there's an unfair advantage of being on cable. Good luck showing this even on Fox.

Simpson aged too much and it doesn't make you laugh any more. More like amused at some parodies.

Family Guy is only good in parodies (Star Wars/Back to the Future episodes). But other episodes sucks for this and last season. Like the ep 9 and 10 this season are repeated themes like James Woods and Brian love Lois. It's clearly running out of steam and they are doing a Cleveland spin off? please.

American Dad is actually funnier and fresher than Family Guy this season.

"<" is the "Less than" symbol ;)

I think you have to be under the age of 20 to enjoy Southpark, just fucking stupid.

I do enjoy Family Guy and The Simpsons though.

i think its the other way around. Most southpark fanatics that I know (in real life) are 20 and up. 20 below are more likely souping up their CRX's and downloading T-PAIN music illegally.

The age thing is a mixed bag. There are more juvenile jokes in Family Guys and South Park. But anyone under 40 should appreciate both shows.

For the time, I think The Simpsons was the shit. Now, I find it boring; same old same old.

Out of the three, the only one I watch regularly is Family Guy. I'll catch Southpark sometimes, but quite honestly there is only so many racial jokes and poor animation I can digest in one sitting...

The peak of the Simpsons (basically any season from 2-10) may be the best show ever. In terms of the cleverness of the humour, its appropriateness and how many people it can please (A 7 year old, 14 year old, 25 year old and 50 year old can all laugh find it funny), it is unmatched.

The peak of Family Guy, well, I'm not sure it had a peak. Pre-cancellation I suppose, but it has moments all over the place. But it never matched the sublety of the Simpsons or the cleverness of it. It just yelled at you. It always reminds me of a bunch of standup routines all rolled into a cartoon (or a bunch of manatees grabbing idea balls).

South Park is obviously the most controversial, but its pretty damn clever in what it does. They're quick to pick up on current events and mock them to their wit's end. After their first couple seasons, Stone and Parker really found their stride and have put out some pretty funny stuff.

Currently, its without a doubt South Park > Simpsons > Family Guy. As I mentioned in the other thread, the Simpsons is just a shadow of its former self and has tried to appease to the Family Guy crowd, getting away from what made it so good, and Family Guy has basically become a weak story surrounded by sketches not good enough to make it into Robot Chicken. South Park however, is still in its prime really.

All time it would be Simpsons >>>> South Park >>> Family Guy (which doesn't really belong in the discussion to be perfectly honest).

If only Groening had just let the Simpsons gracefully end and put all his resources into Futurama (which could have blown South Park out of the water iteself if it had the same run).

I honestly hated southpark episodes 1-3, only until about a year or so ago i've been catching southpark everyday. It's totally different now, but i agree - the old episodes are complete shit.

It doesn't age well. The 1st few season was the shit 12 years ago.

Than season 3-5 or 6 sucked. Out of gas and ideas. Then when they start being controversial adding social commentary, then it's good.

south park and family guy

even if alot of the family guy humor is taken from simpsons episodes, but the last several seasons of simpsons just did not stand up to the older ones.

I think poking fun at social situations was where southpark really took off. I love season 11 the shit episode
