Never been a fan of the CF look, don't really care if it's lighter.

i don't really know what to think about it. I like the way my car looks with both. It looks more cleaner with the oem hood.

That being said, it is your car and it's not like it looks awful if you choose to go with the CF it just isn't my cup of tea. Some people don't like my choice of side skirts and wheels but it doesn't bother me any. :)

Well, for 1200 i think its goin to stay on, lol. however, i also have cf splitters, and new fenders that still have to be added on...


added: it takes two people to lift the stock hood. 161lbs me to lift th cf hood

i like the CF hood... but you need to put a body color GTR grill in... that will make it look so much cleaner...

Doesn't really look good with the brown paint. Same with the wing. I don't really know why the car would be brown in the first place though, that is a colour that should only be on a buick.

+1 I don't know if your a member of gtrc, but a member tossed a CF hood on his skyline and added a body color GTR grille, looks good. But it's your choice at the end broski.

Paint it. You can paint it with a light coat so you can still see the CF weave, too.

I can't really tell from the picture but if there are vents, paint the hood, leave the vents CF. If there aren't any vents, paint the CF, I know how heavy the skyline hood is. Oh yeah and GT-R grill! Loving the colour, very original :thumbsup: Nice to see a skyline in good shape.

The problem is the pic with it on, is dull and shaded in the garage, if it were outside and had a nice shine it would look nicer.

And what was that bit about 161lbs? you are? surely to god the hood isn't.. :confused: I think my stock hood was ~45 and the carbon is under 20, you can lift it with one hand no problem..

But back on topic..keep the CF...dont paint it. Get a CF wing and those CF splitters you wer talking about. That would finnish it up nicely. Also maybe look into a CF hatch aswell? but im not too sure how good it would look i dont think i have seen any with one.

Edit: Maybe the CF wing and CF trunk would be a little over kill...but if you took the wing off CF trunk would look good IMO.

Bare CF looks terrible IMO. It was "cool" like 3 years ago. I have always like the car to look modified but stock, if you know what I mean. (IE The car looks mean as hell, but no one can tell if it came that way from the factory or if you added the parts yourself)

the pictures you put up make the car look orangy-brown... Top Secret gold is a completely different color... I don't like the color of the skyline based on the picture...

BUT WHO CARES??? You should see how many people hate on my yellow headlight lenses... but they're still on there... its my truck...

to answer all the questions, the thread was about two hoods, not the color of the car. this is the problem with beyond you make one thread about one thing and it turns into another. As for, asking people what they think about it. simply just curious... I mean, i like they way the car looks with a cf hood. i probably will keep it on there for a while. i was jus wondering iwhat people on beyond thought looked better.... and your right in those pics the vcar does not look like top secret gold, but ti can't expect a camera phone to take the best pics. if i was worried about paint i probably would have posted a pic of the car that was done in better light, and with a better camera...

^understood, but to me, if I want an honest opinion on how something looks, I would give an accurate representation of the car. To me CF looks different on whatever its going on.
