I drive a 1990 Chevy Cavalier 5spd, I'm having problems to get my car to turn over. The car would crank, then dies. It would crank for about 2 secs then dies. I'd have to repeat several times before it would actually turn over. It drives fine when its running just getting it to start is a total pain..
any ideas what the cause may be?
thanks

Plugged injectors/fuel filter? Bad Gas?

This started to happen during the cold snap we had in February. At first I thought it was due to the cold which yield the problem but as it got warmer the problem still persist. I don't think it's bad fuel since I've ran through many tanks of gas since Feb... Any way to check to see if my injectors are plugged?

Its probably not injectors if youve had a couple tanks of gas since it originally happened.

Does it smoke or burn oil/antifreeze?

There's some white smoke out of the rear but not an alarming amount.

If the car performs flawlessly AFTER it starts, the problem is unlikely to be with the fuel delivery system.

IMHO, it's probably an issue with the starter, battery or alternator.
