So how many of you listen to your own music when your working out? Id imagine the majority of you are. Anyways listening to the same old crap on my ipod is getting me down when im doing my cardio. Any suggestions on some good training music?

Ain't Nothing Gonna Hold Me Down

Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving
Ain't nothing gonna break my stride
I'm running and I won't touch ground
Oh no, I've got to keep on moving

Am I the only one that finds bringing your own music distracting?

Techno, rock, or rap for fast-paced cardio.

I mix it up quite a bit. (I sense a huge post coming)

LATELY I've been listening to quite a bit of metal. Probably all the guitar playing that brings the metal out hahah. Like Pantera (101 Proof Live, Reinventing The Steel), Bury Your Dead (Beauty And The Breakdown, Cover Your Tracks, You Had Me At Hello), It Dies Today, Silverstein (older).

I'm loving the new Protest the Hero as well as the older one (Fortress and Kezia in respective order).

Trance and Electro tend to take over my iPod somedays though. Like Tiesto Comps (ISOS series), Cosmic Gate, Above and Beyond, and a lot of remixes and mashups that I find on the internet. Like Apologize - Timbaland (Winnel Remix). Or Britney Spears - Gimme More (Edson Pride Remix). Those are two pretty big ass tracks.

When I'm stretching after a workout it's always trance. Mainly the ISOS 6 Disc 1 from Tiesto.

Actually my "stretching" playlist is as follows.

Everything (Cosmic Gate B2B3 Intro Mix) - Tiesto/Jes
Body of Conflict - Cosmic Gate
Ohmna - The Sun'll Shine
Allure Feat Julie Thompson - Something Inside of Me
Taxigirl - High Glow
Reeves feat Alanah - Lonely
Jedidja - Dancing Water
D'alt Vila - Breathing

Mostly off of compilations.

Some of the rare shit I have is,

Tiesto (feat BT) - Break My Fall (Jerry Ropero Mix)
Rihanna - Don't Stop The Music (Simmons And Christopher Mix)
Fall Out Boy - Thanks for the Memories (Lenny B Club Mix)
Darude - Sandstorm (Tuff House Dirty Mix)
Pryda - Armed
Above and Beyond - Home (Wippenberg)
Global DeeJays - Everybody's free (Wippenberg)
Dirty South - Minority

Anyways... that's me.

what works for me is alternative, namely easy to listen to, upbeat uplifting songs.

it helps me complete a full workout properly if i feel good about myself and am in a good mood.

i find that fast paced or "loud" music makes it hard to concentrate on what your doing and can make me rush.
its nice to listen to music that you can concentrate on what your doing and not be thinking about the song thats playing because its shouting in your ear.

i also like some good underground hip hop, strange fruit project, the procussions etc for cardio as they give you a nice beat and vibe to, and even though its hip hop its very easily listening and calm, rather than some bands "fuck this fuck that" its actually got lyrics that someones mind created.

for alternative i listen to anything from Cartel, Over It, Acceptance, Starting Line, Yellowcard, The Ataris, Taking back Sunday, Forever the sickest Kids, Paramore, Boys like Girls, My american heart, Pepper, Vanilla Sky.

and in some cases i (personally) come across a song that brings back relationship pain, and thats good for an extra few reps. you may not have this "benifit" but i figured i would add it.

Also, having music on makes it tough to fart silently at the gym.

Being relaxed at the gym, for me, sucks.
I need to be making the best out of my new haircut while doing 225lb barbell shrugs after downing a flat of water bottles.

On a side note you should have used the search button before creating this thread as there is another one that is very extensive.
