how the fuck do you flip a vehicle on a dead straight road? let alone... racing a corolla... let alone... racing on the street?! :banghead:

Anderson Road and Elbow drive is a dangerous intersection where I have seen many serious accidents, including rollovers. Also further East once you pass Mcleod in the winter people always spin out on that stretch.

That long stretch from 14th - 24th is notorious for racing. At least the shady BMW driver came back to the scene in a different vehicle after fleeing.

Thats awesome!

That intersection has no red light warning lights and people blast down anderson doing well over 80, people making left turns accross anderson misjudge and try to make it across and there you have it instant sideswipes/rollovers etc...

Guess the Bimmer outhandled the Corolla/Malibu around that corner. haha

That corner is only dangerous if you drive 50+ above the limit...

Street racing will soon be the only way for people to race if the city keeps trying to shut down race city.. which they raise the taxes from 45,000 a year to $200,000 a year. when will the city learn how to stop street racing? shutting down the only legal place to race.. i dont think so

Yeah I saw that last night at around 12:30. It was right at that bend going NE-ish, just past the lights where you turn to go to the filthy gas station.

There was a bunch of cops around, and it looked like they completely shut down that side of 37th street and were tidying up.

I thought there was someone else killed/seriously injured at that corner a while back?

The passenger of the BMW I believe is in serious condition with head trauma. I heard one of them went through red and started to go into drive in the wrong lane..or something to that affect.

the Malibu accident was a separate incident.

The BMW driver took off like a pussy and returned to the scene in another car. The passenger in smaller car is in hostpital.

Yea... guy I went to school with in high school was killed a couple years back on that bend after wrapping his prelude around a lamp post... not good.

Doesn't surprise me to see another accident on the road from street racing, lots of people seem to do it out there...

I saw a tow truck with a silver or white RHD Aristo on the back this afternoon.

If there was a passenger in the car, they would have been in trouble as the side/roof was caved in.

This is scary shit guys. Think of all the import drivers who frequent this site. Of course we wouldn't know yet - cuz the dude is in hospital.

I've raced on the street before too - I'll admit, but I was never an idiot about it. WTF.

Oh yeah man. The Sequoia has taken on M3's, 650 series, and countless supercharged mustangs. Don't knock SUV dragracing dude. Wha? What do you mean a 6000lb Sequoia isn't race prepped? :nut:

I don't really race any more anyway. Haven't in my Grand Prix, and the Sequoia has been driven like I'm 70. But with eyesight.

Once when I had my Audi to see what it could do, but that's about it in recent years. But there's a time ya gotta grow up to ensure shit like this doesn't happen. Too much to lose for a rush.

If they got the type of the vehicle wrong, maybe they got the driver of the vehicle wrong too? Cuz the pass side would have been the driver. Just thinking out loud.

My silver Aristo is safe.

Its kinda good/bad for the scene having this guy rolling his car and raising more attention to the need for a legal track, hope you and your passenger are okay.

That argument makes no sense.
Race city is still here right now and obviously it did not deter this guy at all.

There are just going to be some people who refuse to take it to the track and ergo they deserve to die.

Wow, we let repeated child molesters off with a mere 10 years, but if you're caught racing you're on death row? Sorry, I don't see the logic in that. Next thing we'll be cutting of hands of people who steal food for their family. I'm not condoning or subscribing to this activity at all, I'm just pointing out the serious flaw in this type of thinking.

Back on track, any medical updates?

Oh, I'm not saying they deserve the death penalty and don't think they should. If however, there is serious maim-age I couldn't care less.

I don't agree with going 140 around city streets or crazy street races, but you guys do realize that the news likes to sensationalize stories right? 10-20km/h over would = street racing. A trip to the hospital to get stitches would = near death (I don't know one way or the other in this case)

300-350whp and RWD means you can expect a car to be pretty tail happy with traction control off. Who knows if it was gravel... even just a temperature drop outside at night or humidity is enough that I can no longer safely hammer my Aristo. When the auto kicks down, it surges pretty hard.

Basically all I'm saying is that if you're not careful with high horsepower and RWD (and a tallll stock ride height), you can pretty much screw the car up at any speed.... Like the story someone posted of some old guy in a muscle car that was trying to get him race on the street and the muscle car proceeded to do a burnout... when it caught traction it flew off the road sideways and crashed into something... or am I remembering that wrong.??!!

Shitty to hear about this incident. I say driver error on a high horsepower rwd more than all out speed. These cars aren't really that naturally tippy... just tailhappy.

I don't see the logic in your comparison either, but I'll bite. People who street race shouldn't be put on death row, they should just have their car crushed and their licence cut in two.

I doubt he was serious about killing people that street race.
