Sucky deal, good luck with it all.

Shouldn't be too hard to find, not a lot of 2008 550i's on the road, which is different than 2007 550i's, because those do not come standard with the M-Tech kit.

Senseiz

So the car was stolen using it's key that someone at the party took.....

There shouldnt be a hard list to narrow down who did it I hope, unless your brother invited the entire NW quadrant of Calgary..

Will keep them eyes open though.

There's a teenager in the NW shitting himself right now because there's a stolen $60,000 vehicle in his alley.

I saw a beamer that looked like that last night going up shag around like 1030-11..so dont know if that would be it but who ever was driving it was trying to drive up the hill the stopped and put theyre hazards on...the car was parked on shag for a while. But again i have no idea if this was the car..i didnt get a clear look at it but it was a newer beamer like that style:dunno:

And people wonder why no one wants to have parties at their houses! Maybe if people had a little respect for the party thrower's property, there might be a lot more house parties.

I think you will likely get the car back... I just hope you catch those no respect pricks too.

Damn, if I had've known there was a house party going on, I would have brought my pickaxe!

Shitty luck, man. Hope you get it back, I'll keep an eye out. I'm up there every now and again.

If it does have a tracking feature in it, definitely give 'er!

Does BMW Assist track my vehicle's location?

"YES - If you request Stolen Vehicle Recovery service by calling (888) 333-6118 after filing your police report."

cmodem
03-17-2008, 02:22 AM
wow bmw moves quick how f'ing hard is it after a police report is filed the owner calls in. You locate it and cops go to recover.

Wait there's probably a 5-10 business day turnaround before the cops go to check out the location bmw tells them. Or wait maybe bmw has to process all sorts of stuff and in 6-8 weeks will find the location.

:thumbsdow on useless bmw feature

Stupid kids, they might as well turn themselves in.

If their dumb enough to be driving around in the same city they took it from and not even change the plate. It's only a matter of time.

From my experience having any vehicle stolen sucks, but I would actually rather have them write the car off then get it back.

Either way I hope they get more than whats coming their way.

To CPS, it is just another stolen car. Weather it is $1,000 or $100,000 and that is the way it should be. They will not dispatch the chopper, and mass ground units to find this car. Good luck with the situation.

also, if what you say about BMW's actions here, that is pathetic of them.

100% agree ... Kids these days need to learn to respsect ...
Our justice system is nothing more than useless ...
The "houseparty when parents are gone" was the first mistake .... but expensive lesson learned (hopefully).

And for new vehicles ... for an extra $10 a month ... zero depreciation waiver insurance is well worth it ... especially for a vehicle like this.

aww shit. sorry to hear about that. When I had my WRX, I bought it new and had it insured for "replacement cost" just because I was worried about this kind of shit with it.

Personally, I'd say each one of their fingers is worth 2,500 bucks. Kneecaps are another 1,500. Make them pay back the value of the car that way.

Fuckin' court system here won't teach them. They really should be strapped into a chair, have their friggin hands cut off, and then laid on the table in front of them beside a sewing kit......giving them the option to sew their hands back on if they choose to do so. You think their little cool guy friends would want to steal anything after that!??

Newer generations are getting more and more disrespectful to anything that isn't theirs. Even then, all these punk kids seem to live the life of "easy come easy go". Man, reading about this shit really gets me steamed up.

In a way I hope you get the car back, but on the other hand I dont know if I would want my car after some little a-hole drove the crap out of it. Best case scenario the insurance company writes it off for the retail value and you can just go buy a new one. Either way I feel for you, I hate when people willingly damage others property. Anyways gl with your search, i'll keep an eye peeled.

I don't know about anyone else, but if it were my car I would rather the car NOT get recovered. That way I could get paid out and get a new car.

I wouldn't want to drive a car that has been stolen and bagged on. The resale will have just plummeted. The extra mileage and possible mechanical and body damage (as a result from joy-riding) won't help with the value of the car either.

Maybe BMW is actually doing a service by being so slow.

Tracking works if the vehicle calls out for help ...
But in order for BMW to "contact" the vehicle ...
Proper paperwork must be done since it "invades privacy" ...
and when people are involved it takes time.

Dj_Stylz
03-17-2008, 03:30 PM
Proper paper work shouldn't have to be done since the car was stolen..

Who cares if a bunch of kids are trying to get the car back before their parents come home? Even if thats true, there is no way it wont get back to the parents especially if the police are already involved. And if the police aren't involved, that car is going to be so trashed anyways, it will be obvious something happened.

I'd say blame the dad. I'm sorry but if you have several teenage sons in the house, and you have a brand new $100 K + BMW in the garage, leaving the key at home is just asking for something to happen.
