Hey guys and girls,

What would your top 3 picks be?

Any suggestions?

Currently looking at A6 & 335xi
Perviously was considering 6 Series but wife said no.

That's pretty broad... what kind of requirements do you have?

Too bad about the 6! ;)

Why A6 or 335xi?

An S4 or S5 would be closer to the 335xi in size/price performance.

Or a 5 series if you're looking at the A6.

since ur considering family cars...

i would take a look at:

Caddy CTS... very highly rated... i have a thread up here somewhere with a comparison of that car to a 5 series.

and the A/S4/5, i have a cousin with an A4 and its a sweet ride

after going to the auto show... if you're in the market for a higher end sedan...

IS-F
E-Class w/ bluetec
Saab 9-3X (?) I think that was the new 9-3 they had on display with V6 turbo awd

or wait for the new passat, it looked pretty sweet. VW is going to sell a lot of those things

price range and what you want out of it might help...

ok
so yeah i realized i goofed up.
too broad of a spectrum.

so what im looking for is

sporty 4 door or 2 door ( if the 2 door looks decent )
family car, but doesnt have to be.

considering all wheel drive ( everyone knows about calgary winters )

price range is less than $70, 000

optional feature that has to be pretty good is navi ( since wifey is going to be driving as well and we are planning trips to states and etc. need navi to find places down there when either i take or she takes it down )

ill say it again... take a look at the new CTS... sweet car, comparable to a 5 series bimmer and a fraction of the price... you can invest your extra money into an appreciating asset!

Infinti M45 I think thats what it was very nicely equiped car and lots of features including awd, saw it at the autoshow, or you could go with a G35XS and spend less on the car buit add wheels and boost to contend with the other cars

ok seriously now, the 335 is the best car in it's class by far. the only reason why you'd buy something else is if you want a cheaper car or something larger. if you're not concerned with either of those, then there's no car better than the 335.

people like to cheer for the underdogs like the G35 and CTS because they like to be different but in actuality these two cars are way inferior to the 335. you should start by looking up comparison tests on these cars on caranddriver.com and edmunds.com

speaking of which, car & driver got a lot of flak for picking the 335 over the new G35. everyone was writing letters complaining how it's not a fair comparison since the 335 costs $10k more. so they did another review with the newly released C-Class and CTS against the G35 and 328i. results are here: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparison_test/sedans/great_for_38_comparison_test/(page)/1

any other ideas? the 335 and G35 are generally regarded as the top two cars in this class. as for other cars you should be looking at, i would say should also check out the IS350, CTS and C350. the TL is also in the same price range but is a slightly different type of car.

so i test drove the IS350 this weekend and the C300

IS350

loved it
it was soo comfortable
and the leather was just soo nice and soft
looks beautiful too
wifey liked it too
she said that its def. going to be on the table

C300
first off WORST SERVICE EVER !!!
went to the Benz dealer beside the Lexas Dealership down by ikea....

Not 1 single person asked if we were ok or needed any questions answered.

went to Downtown Benz dealership and they did the same, finally after standing by the car for like 30 mins we finally had someone come up to us and ask... anyways i can rant on about Benz forever..

the car was ok
rides alot rougher than the IS350
and it doesnt feel like your sitting in a 50 g car
you feel like your sittin in a civic or something.

so Merc's are off the list

Tuesday i have an appointment to test drive the 335xi

i have been reading reviews on and from what everyone is sayin here as well.. i am hoping its as good as everyone says.
we will have to see..

i will be test driving the CTS on wednesday ... so lets see..

g35 is out of the question... we saw way toooooo many driving around... so thats out of the question.

any other ideas people?
any other recommendations?
