2009 we get a live action version of one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid... I'm skeptical, but who knows, hopefully they will do a good job with it, like Bay did with Transformers.

I don't know about this one.. Concerns me a bit. GI-Joe always had "cartoon violence", or put another way -- non-violent violence. Lasers instead of bullets or shells, and nobody ever dying, etc. (except for the animated "movie" with Cobra-La back in '86/87).

I hope they can do the franchise justice and not screw it up.

IGN called it a really good movie if you took it in the context it was meant to be taken, that being a action packed popcorn movie. No deep plots, no overly dramatic portions, just lots of action, lots of explosions, and general fun all around. Which is EXACTLY how I was hoping it would be :P

I've heard that excuse way to often for the last 5 years.

Ghostbusters isnt by any means a Oscar worthy movie, but it holds up for originality, special effects (for the time), and great acting.

I think Storm Shadow looks okay. At least they didnt completly slaughter the costume and overall Storm Shadow character. It could be worse. Some prime examples - Bullseye & Deadpool from the movies. They were terrible.

Went to the advanced screening tonight, great movie. Some of the plot was cheezy, but really, you're not watching it for the plot. Great action beginning to end, no boring parts at all. Some pretty bad ass weapons and vehicles.

Story doesn't follow the original GI Joe series here and there, but really, how many of you guys know the original GI Joe story anyways? haha

So those retarded acceleration suits didn't hinder the integrity of a G.I. Joe movie? I didn't really like the idea in the first place, but I've been reading and hearing good reviews, so I might just go see it.

Yeah the accelerator suits only really factored into one main action sequence. They were not present in most of the rest of the movie.

They were kinda cool in the context they were used though.

Snake Eyes' rubberized costume was kinda stupid though, particularly the face/mouth.

Most of the casting was solid. But they probably could've found a better guy for Duke.

Overall I'd give the movie at least 7 out of 10. I enjoyed it. Not perfect but better than I expected.

This movie wasn't as bad as it was made out to be by reviews. I was expecting something worse than Transformers 2. I came out of it mildy surprised. Sure it had holes in it, but was a decent movie.

Just got back from it. It was pretty good for what it was. I walked in expecting a movie to be soley based on action. I got want I expected. It was a great action film IMO. I enjoyed this film alot more than Transformers 2.

On the downside, there were a few plot holes and the acting was sub-par. But for what it was it was a solid action movie with some eye candy. Scarlette :love:
