Anyone try Mercado??

Read an article about it last night and it was a rave review...Anyone go there yet? I wouldn't mind trying it. I love authentic Italian food.

Went for lunch one weekend, and the group of us all really liked it. Prices are not too bad considering the location, and the fact that they sell so much of what they make frozen as well is neat.

I LOVE IT!!! We eat out almost every nite, and Mercato is one of our tried and true. When you make a reservation, ask for the counter seats. You sit at the counter in front of the chef and watch him cook all nite. Their mussels are fantastic, the caprese salad is made with the super smooth mozzarella and you can't go wrong with either the steak for dinner or any of the pastas. It's fantastic!!!

I've been there on a number of occasions for lunch and dinner. I even drop by if I'm in the area for an item or two from the grocery side, or to grab a cup of Illy coffee. :thumbsup:

u have to really know and appreciate italian food to eat there
they're not the typical fettucini alfredo or linguine with mussels place
i'd say they're $, little bucket of potato salad my gf bought there for 10 bux, cabbage roll was 8
the risotto was pretty good tho

i am very open minded with food. So i most likely will love this place. Gonna give it a try next week

i find the price decent, love the food sooo much! but hey what do i know about authentic italian food? Im chinese.

I have been there once on a weekend and the food is actually pretty good. No complaints at all. There is a section where you can buy stuff to take home and the Tirimisu cake looks awesome

great place...great food. I'm in there once a week. In most caes you need to make a reservation if you want a seat at lunch hour.

i've been there and it was amazing!! the steak was delicious and the pasta with scallops was awesome as well. we had mussels to start and a couple of bottles of wine and it was around ~$200 for 4 people.

I would recommend it, it is one of my favorite Italian places in Calgary.
