Carfax Question.. Km's and Odometer

Looking at a vehicle for sale locally, but have a quick question regarding the carfax report.

The report has the following:

We checked over 5 billion records from thousands of data sources for this vehicle
This vehicle qualifies for the CARFAX Buyback Guarantee
The last reported odometer reading was 99,419

Odometer reported as 80,000 kilometers

All the bold numbers are under a column that says 'Mileage', and all the text that you see is under 'Comments'.

Why would it have one number as mileage, and then a different number as 'Odometer reported as xxx,xxx kilometers'?

well carfax is american, so the mileage was reported in kms i am assuming, but the carfax report shows it in it converted miles form.

correct, i remember checking a car that was rebuilt title, and no accidents at all showed, carproof for canadian cars, carfax for american cars.

^^^ Yup exactly.... I used carproof when buying my new car, and couldn't be more happy. Was fantastic... just costs more.
