Just getting an idea what you guys think of an HID conversion on a bike? i dont think im gonna do a full projector retro instead a plug and go kit on the stock reflectors anyone here have experience with these in terms of glare, how pickey cops are about them, im only going to go with the 4300k so as close to OEM as possible. Any feedback would be great

I like to brake check bikes that stick HIDs into their halogen housings and drive around all day with their high beams on.

yeah, seriously, if you're gonna go HID, then go projectors, hid in stock housings are painful, and really not much more functional than halogens.

^^^ +1

if ur gonna get hid's without projectors ur just gonna blind everyone going the opposite direction.. i hate ppl who dont get proper projectors for their hid's cuz when hid light scatters thats brutal to oncomers

I have HID on my 675. Bought it through a group buy on the 675 forum. Awesome stuff.

lots of people do projector retrofits, should look good with proper projectors. 4300k will look good, no K-mart bluelight special effect there.

do you know anyone on this borad that has? ive been looking more into it and have decided to go full projector retro and have some questions, are all projectors the same shape and size? im guessing that depending on which projectors i get determines which bulbs and harness i have to get. Any light shedding would be great

Actually, your bulb is already decided for you if you choose to use a projector. You need a D2S bulb, which inherently requires a harness with a D2S connector.

Back when I was looking into retrofitting, the e46 bosch ones were among the better choices because of the size.

^ I think this article is exactly what you're looking for. Buddy shows step by step with pictures how to retrofit f4i HID.

I have 4300K HID's in the stock housings on my GSXR. Just tilt the lights down slightly and you wont have an issue and the visibility difference from halogens are still huge. Ive driven directly behind plenty of cops, been through check stops and traffic stops and not a single one has ever mentioned my head lights.

...Only pic I found find with the lamps on.

*obviously projectors would be better, but Im far too lazy for that. The glare on the bike is from the camera.
