Of course I can find them on the internet. I need to buy them locally if possible since I have seen them around as well. Thanks for the big help.

I think as long as it will allow water to run through the ramp, it should be fine. They are not permanent anyway. I'll just remove them if I have to.

Yes they are illegal. it's illegal to put anything into the steet or gutter, even if you can remove it. Although, I'd bet you won't get a by-law ticket for it unless your neighbours complain.

I get up a steep driveway almost everyday with a very low car.

I think you all need to learn how to adjust the angle of entry...

My parents use the ecoflex and they work pretty well. They pick them up for street cleaning though.

They have a pretty steep curb and I think it's way better for the cars. I have heard that going up and down steep curbs causes creeks and rattles in your car by flexing and straining all of the seals. My mom's IS350's back tire would come off the ground every time she went up the driveway...now its smoooooooth :dunno:

I think your Mom should stop coming onto the driveway at 60 mph! lol

My concern would be that they would get stolen. It would be nice to have though.

I'm with EK on that one. I've owned several very low cars, one having under 3 inches of clearance. Given I lived in BC at the time granted, I still never had problems with entry ways and what not , just a lot of teetering when the car finally had no more flex left in it. As long as you enter at the right angle you can pretty much get over anything just fine.

I just got a few of the rubber ramps delivered the other week by the guy thar runs curbramps.com

It's a sweet deal and they work really well. My MR2 is really low and couldn't properly get it up on my driveway without damaging the kit on my new house (damn steep-ass driveway).

They were $65 each, delivered and installed. They're light and removable and he straps them in to tie them together. Very cool. All my neighbours were wondering where I got it as they want some too.

We're on a cul-de-sac so street cleaning is not an issue, plus they're easily removable.

I don't think that's the point here.

Our driveway is steep as well. I think the ramps are a fairly inexpensive option to help fix this.

Getting in and out of your driveway shouldn't have to be hard on your springs/struts.

It's not hard on your suspension if you go at the right angle. I had a lowered car previously and pending I enter and exit at the right angle I would NEVER scrape. Only when I tried to go at it head on would I scrape and lol even then it was only the tow hooks that were touching the ground.

They are illegal - btw, one risk you have with them is if somebody is riding their bike or skatebord or something and hits it and injures themself - you will be sued and you will loose.

how loose will you get? like hot dog down the hallway loose?

but really... all you sport compact drivers... try a full sized luxury sedan with under 2inches of clearance.... fml.... no moar

Or you could maintain a vehicle with a ride height that is suitable for driving on public roadways...

Super low cars do not handle better contrary to popular belief, stiff springs and short travel cannot cope with bumps, cracks and ruts in most public roadways thus decreasing lateral and linear traction in all but the most ideal situations.

alternatively what we used to do was have a 2x4 at the bottom of the curb, jump out of car, throw it down, pull on drive way, take it away.

Price you pay for having a low car.

I got mine from Canadian Tire. I do agree though. Most cars can make it up a fairly steep curb if they come in at a sharp angle. Some cars are just too low though.. a lowered Ferrari 355 comes to mind. The long nose of the car, combined with low clearance means it will scrape no matter what.

Bump ...

Anywhere I can get these locally? I called the Canadian tire on country hills and they said they do not carry anything like that.

Haha, ya it's a pretty steep angle. I can get in with the right approach, but it's a pain.
