OK I know I have been posting a lot about buying and so far, no action.

Has anyone purchased a certified series car from BMW before? 2.9% financing up to 60 months (same as buying new). BUT, you get the extended warranty up to 6 years, 160,000kms! That is a great thing if you were to sell the car post 80,000kms. I'm also assuming that the warranty is transferable?

Is the warranty coverage comprehensive? Has any of you tried to make a warranty claim after the original 80,000kms expired?

Lastly, are the certified series just like any used cars? Can you negotiate hard with the dealer? A few years ago I asked about a car from Brian Jessel and the salesguy said it was a take it or leave it price and that their cars were priced to sell.

The one I'm looking at is loaded from Auto West in Richmond.

2007 335i Coupe $54,887+tax
14,252 kms
Space Grey
Steptronic
Sport, premium, nav, pdc.

I would suggest you find a car with Comfort Access.

Best option by far.

Also, certified finance is 1% right now, not 2.9%

^^^

Forgot to mention that I was looking at a coupe so 2.9%. Sedans are 1% :D

BTW, what's Comfort Access? :dunno:

It is the equivalent of Keyless Go... for you MB poser types.

So for the coupe, cars made before March 2007 have a different radio setup when combined with Nav. Check for that.

Cars before March 2007 are more likely to have a diff that can be changed out for an LSD. Only applicable if you are looking to mod that. After 03/2007, the diff is welded. So you have to send your diff to the UK to get the LSD installed.

2007s are very likely to have fuel pump failures. Some cars have had 3 fail. 2008s not so much.

2008s have LED license plate lights. Make sure you get the sport package to ensure you get the extra oil cooler... especially if you plan on tracking the car.

Non Xi cars do not have headlight washers (good thing IMO).

The second one is the post 03/2007 production cars.

That's weird, why wouldn't the non Xi's have headlight washers?

Dunno. The cut outs and plugs are there, but it is empty underneath.

^Good. Head light washers really don't do much, and it just makes the whole front of the car wet....

They figure the Xi's will be winter driven since they're all wheel drive, I suppose. Hence you'll use the washers. They take them off the other models because they create a bit of wind noise. I believe you can add them on pretty easily if you wish.

Certified stuff works just like a used car, but less haggle room since they are giving you a nice warranty.
