Hey guys. ive been wanting to do this for a while but im not really sure where to start. Im looking to link my samsung LCD to my computer, but at the same time i want to still have my computer monitor hooked up on my desk.

do i need a HD Video card with two ports? and what kind of cables do i need.

thanks in advance.

Probably going to need dual dvi out video card, then adjust the resolution to match the native of your tv.

What kind of ports do you have on the back of the LCD? Dont most of them come with a DVI input?

i always used vga with my tv becasue even with powerstrip or the new nvidia drivers, i always had overscan etc.

maybe the newer tvs are good with hdmi and dvi resolutions (or ur drivers)

You know, I have never figured out how to get two different resolutions out of my card to hook up my TV and Monitor at the same time, so either my monitor runs shitty ass resolutions like 1280x720 or w/e or my TV can't support the resolution. I just end up swtiching back and forth whenever I am watching something

what drivers are you using and what connections to your tv?

i have 3 monitors (including my tv) all running different resolutions, on two different video cards

I have an 8800GT, drivers are Nvidia drivers

on the properties where u change the resolution..theres should be 2 screens u can choose from...pick #2 which is most likely ur tv and change the res on that

my lcd has no overscan, its friggin perfect. 1920x1080 resolution to it from my pc (as main and only monitor though, but works the same if i hook up a pc lcd for troubleshooting). i just have a dual dvi card in there, nvidia 8600, drivers work great

im new to this? what is overscan?

My graphics card does have DVI. and my TV has 3 HDMI and a VGA. what do you suggest i do?

and if i do end up needing to buy a DVI-to-HDMI cord i will need like a 15-20Ft. where would i find one?
