Specifically a Uniden digital unit. Would also like the 25 digital card as well, but would take the unit without it.

PM me please

it may be hard for you to find this on beyond, your best bet would be joining a local radio club

^ Thanks ringmaster.

The ad isn't suspicious whatsoever. I have no ill intentions here. I live in an interesting part of town where there is always police activity, and it would be cool to have it sitting on my coffee table and knowing what is going on. The unit is completely legal to purchase and there was one for sale on beyond not too long ago.

Idiots.

I think you may be out of luck - our radios are digitally encrypted for security, and from what I understand, you cannot scan them with a typical police radio scanner, even the digital ones. Unless you like hearing white noise, don't waste your money.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what I've been told by our tech guys.

Another user on here recently sold his scanner and he had no troubles picking up CPS radio. The only one he could not get was the Tactical Unit/Tac-at-scene which is encrypted. Hawc2, and all districts he had no trouble with.

I was told that each time an officer releases the radio button, the signal changes, but with a digital card that plugs into the scanner, you can pick up the signals no problem. You can pick up anything, it is just a matter of how much coin you want to spend.

This also reminds me of the device i saw on the tv show "cops" that marijuana grow ops have.. It's just a black case with a light and a vibrator to alert the tenants that cops are using their radios in the area. I would assume it has a short range as to minimize false alarms.

have you tried the spy store? They have some cool stuff down there. :dunno:

Rmk - that is interesting, now I'm curious as to what the real deal is, haha. From what I was told, our radios use a security key/encryption program that unless you have the specific security key for our network, it won't be decrypted by anything but a radio with that same security key. Maybe they weren't specific enough in telling me that it was for TAC only... nonetheless, I'm gonna have to ask when I'm in next week. :)

Interesting to hear that come from your end. Perhaps they meant the Tac guys, but people can pick up Cps with the right equipment.

Not a digital unit. That would pick up RCMP, but not the local guys :) Thanks for the link.
