RADAR advice!!!

Hi everyone I am in the market for a radar detector and I have narrowed it down to 3 choices

Escort Passport 9500i\8500 50x

Beltronics STi

V1 Valentine

I just wanted to know which one you guys recommend and why.

...seriously, pick the 9500 or STI Driver. I think they both have GPS to reduce false alarms. :thumbsup: The V1 is undeniably good, but IMO, outdated as hell. Who wants a big black box flashing red arrows all around the car?

I don't know if the STi Driver has GPS. I know the 9500 has it...but a lot of people have had problems with the GPS. I would go for the 8500 X50 if you want it now...maybe wait a bit for them to fix w/e is wrong with the 9500

If you drive in the city, you're seriously wasting your money on a radar detector, they pretty well only use Lidar. With Lidar, all the detector can do is tell you that you've already been hit, and that's only if the cop somehow manages to hit your detector with the 6" wide laser beam which he is aiming at your headlights.
