1L Bike Which one to get?

I'm getting a brand new bike this summer. I've had my license for about 1.5 yrs. But this will be the first bike I will own. To date I have taken a bike course and ridden a couple of friends bikes for a day or two here and there. I have heard all the stories on why I shouldn't get a 1000 for my first bike so if your here to bitch about why I shouldn't get one, then GTFO. My reason for wanting a 1000 is because of my size. The 600/750 feel like power wheels toys. lol

I will be buying a brand new to one year old bike.

I like the styling of the new R1 and the GSX-R. Not a big fan of the new flat face Honda or the strange look of the new ZX10 Kawi.

Just looking for rideability of the bikes and which ones are overall a better bike and why.

Just sit on them all, and get what feels best. You aren't going to notice a power difference between any of them for having no experience.

a good buddy of mine has an 05 cbr 1000 rr, and it's sex on wheels. honestly, about the best 1000 that i've ridden personally. another friend has the r1, not such a big fan of the front ends, but other than that they aren't bad. i think that they are all super bikes, and you won't be dissappointed in whichever one you choose.

my honest opinion though is that you should go and sit on/ride all of them, see which one fits nicest and whatnot, and make your decision from there. we can all tell you what we want, but in the end your the one who's gonna be riding it/paying for it.....

I have sat on them all, I don't think it helped any. The seating position will be different when riding them anyways. I don't thin they do test rides on these types of bike lol.

If you are taller guy go for the 2008 zx10 (Black) tallest 1000cc new generation but change that ugly funnel exhaust:thumbsup:

Walt healy has a demo ride weekend. Not sure if its in may or june, just call them up. Test out 08 gsxr 1000 or 08 R1

I can't say anything for Kawasaki but I have ridden Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki liter bikes and nothing comes close to the Gixxer

The kawi has iffy styling, but it's been the top of every comparison test I've read of the 4 japanese liter bikes. I've ridden the yamaha briefly and I am tooo tall (6'3") so keep that in mind

I'd probably go for this nice little ducati 848. A grand or two more than a litre bike but whatever.
