Your motor is over 400000kms and your going to turbo it?!?!?! Why not just motor swap? But I have no clue what audi motors go for :dunno:

ya, I don't know if I'd turbo an engine that has 400kms on it. I had under 200kms on my old engine and I put a new one in for FI.

I agree.. If you turbocharge it, your car will last even shorter.. Even though it would also break down very soon if you don't turbocharge it. So either way, your car's fucked..

maybe do a compression and lead down test first. but yeah. 400k is a lot on a motor.

400k holly shit..risky business my friend...putting a turbo on will require that you use synthetic oil and who knows if your engine will be able to hold the thinner oil. 6psi isnt much boost and your B/E shoudl be ok but it's all in the tuning..i would suggest a s-afc so you don't run your ass lean and since the audi is a daily driver..from what I know...you best be making that car reliable so you're not bussing your ass around town..then again Leo's mom has a nice odyssey doesn't she so at least you'll be riding her/with her, in comfort and style:thumbsup:

Do yourself a favor, and I think everyone will agree that you shouldn't turbo charge it

its not a bad idea IF your engine is in good condition.

If your motor really does have 400k on it I hope you plan on R&Ring it before you slap the turbo on. Otherwise it will be a waste of time.

Thats still got a hell of a lot of mileage on it man. Personally, if you really want the setup to last you are better off trying to find a low mileage turbo motor and dropping it in there instead.

If it was rebuilt at 190 and lets say it has ~300k lifespan NA you then only have ~90k of useable miles left. Now your going to add a turbo onto a motor that's already 2/3rd's into it's life. It's just not a good idea. Although turbo's don't ask all that much from a motor in terms of wear and tear, the motor is already weakened and a turbo will just accelerate the process. So the question you have to answer is do you want to do it right the first time, or do you want it right now and have to fix endless little problems until finally it gives out on you? I promise you that it will be cheaper doing it the right the first time.
