Yes fire dept on scene....I know one person made it out as he was the one ringing our doorbell crazy...cops wont let me outside to watch...:eek:

But holy fawk, its just 15 steps across, the front of the house you could see flames shooting out the windows...I'm like shakin right now for those kids

I think it was a gas line explosion cuz I heard a loud pop a few minutes before but thought it was a cars exhaust or car door slamming shut cuz the house went up quick, the flames were pretty intense

Just talked to my uncle, he was dropping off my aunt here earlier and said there was 2 Natives having a fist fight outside that same house a few hours earlier....arson perhaps?

shit happened to the garage across from mine a few years back, neighbours threw hoses to my backyard where i held 3-4 of them spraying my fence and garage hopfully preventing it from catching on fire, the fire melted all the garage door, burnt all fence boards and 1/2 my apple tree and warped garage roof. i burnt my hands while trying to keep everything watered.. i helped and it was worth it

i hope everyone was ok, its a scary thing.

At approximately 01:00 this morning, The Calgary Fire
Department along with Calgary Police and EMS responded to a
house fire in the 300 block of Penworth Drive S.E. First
arriving fire crews were met by some neighbors and were told
that there may be people inside. The home was fully involved
with flames coming from the windows and shooting through the
roof.

Firefighters entered through the rear of the structure to
fight the blaze and search for occupants. No occupants were
found. The intense heat had forced the crews out but they
were still able to get the fire under control. Firefighters
were also able to protect the adjacent homes resulting in no
reported damage.

One male patient was transported to hospital and status
can be obtained through EMS. Major damage occurred to the
main floor of the bungalow style home with only minor damage
in the basement. No dollar loss estimates or cause have been
determined at this time.

Approximately fourteen pieces of fire apparatus and
approximately thirty-three firefighters responded to the
incident.

I dont even know when the fire started, cuz when I found out, the fire was already raging so a good 15-20 mins it was burning, then I ran outside round 1:45am, they finally had the fire controlled maybe 30-45 mins later....

Yeah I went outside and stood near the front door on my lawn, whipped out my camera, and was about to record when this caucasian officer said GO BACK IN YOUR HOUSE SIR, and it was really late, I didnt feel like "fighting the power" so I went back inside SLOWLY, cop glared at me the whole time...

I've never witnessed anything like that firsthand and living in da ghetto your use to shootings and crackhouses and such but this was a first :rofl: but only one person was in the house and he made it out ok so thats the good news
