ok i just seen a 94 golf cl and the engine seamed to be a 4 cylinder 1.8l as in the 80s style....but every where i look it says the base engine is a 2.0l 115hp :dunno:

btw it has a sunroof if it helps :werd:

and how come there is no RPM gauge

a 94 should have a 2.0 8v. unless it was swapped for some stupid reason :dunno:

in that year CL is base trim. GL has some options.

GTI is the top model

The motor is a 2.0L 8V but they have used the same engine design for ever (why mess with a good thing, they run forever)
Also, is the Car an Automatic?

OK, here is what a common ABA mk3 2.0l 8v looks like with some paint - http://www.3sgtemr2.com/scage/jetta/IMG_0340.JPG

The MK2 1.8L 8v Intake manifold is completely different. It is an aluminum manifold running into the back of the engine, in the shape of a "C". the throttle body is at the top and the head is at the bottom. Its kind of hard to explain, but i cant find a picture right now. sorry.

well its not completly different, more opposite i guess. and not as big. Somebody please post a picture.

it is a manual and thats not what the engine looks like that is the 2.0 i am talking about the 1.8l

well it sounds like maybe somebody swapped the 2.0l into thier MK2 and put the engine into the MK3.

i dont think so cuz i just found some MK3s on some sites and they have the 1.8l also :dunno:
