Expert opinions?

Does it need to be cut out, and new piece welded in? I think so. There is more rust spots happening on the same fender a little farther down.

Sorry for the crappy pics, using a shitty cam with the sun right in the way.

Is that the front or rear?

If front, and theres more rust coming thru in other spots, why not try to find another fender. If the rear, then yes, it will all have to be cut out.

looks like rear, pending on the year of the vehicle its really not worth fixing it

what I would suggest if you're will to look a little tacky, is those chrome wheel well arches they sell at cheap tuner shops and online.

it covers the rust and make the ride more baller haha :bigpimp:

its the rear

and its a 01 infiniti I30, everything runs perfectly and a car like this still runs for around 9 or 10 grand....so i dont want to just scrap it because of a rusty rear fender.

and no tacky wheel chrome arches for me thankyou:Pahaha

wow... an 01 with that kind of rust ouch.

Only way to really get rid of it, is to replace the quarter panel, or cut it all out and weld in new metal.... But that being said there is probably a lot more rust underneath that which would need to be taken care of too.

Probably another quarter panel, you start welding pieces into these newer thin gauge metal and it'll start to warp, bodyshop ppl correct me if I'm wrong.

damn, ontario's salty ass roads rape cars!!

go with some steezy fender flares. ($240 at bings.ca)

you might need wheel spacers or some low offset to negative offset wheels to make it look good but it would hide your rust.
