-------------------
Stone Temple Pilots
-------------------
Alternative hard rockers Stone Temple Pilots' five albums have sold over
17.5 million copies in the US alone and over 30 million worldwide. They've had
fifteen Billboard Top Ten singles, including six No. 1's, and their second
album, 1994's Purple, went to No. 1 on the Billboard Album Chart. They also
won a 1994 Grammy Award for "Best Hard Rock Performance" for 1993's "Plush"
and were named one of VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock". This summer
marks their first tour together in more than eight years.

----------------
The Flaming Lips
----------------
Psychedelic pop-rockers The Flaming Lips are known for their genre
defying sound and elaborate live shows. Three-time Grammy Award winners,
including two for "Best Rock Instrumental Performance", they've been named one
of the "50 Bands To See Before You Die" by Q Magazine. In addition to
releasing 11 critically acclaimed studio albums, The Flaming Lips have
contributed songs to 17 motion picture soundtracks.

----------------
Three Days Grace
----------------
Canadian post-grunge hard rockers Three Days Grace have had five
consecutive No. 1 singles on the US Modern Rock Chart and won a Billboard
Music Award for "Rock Single of the Year". From their full-length studio
albums, 2003's self-titled debut and 2006's Billboard Top Ten and
platinum-selling One-X, the singles "I Hate Everything About You", "Just Like
You", "Animal I Have Become", "Pain", and "Never Too Late" have all topped
either the Billboard Hot 100 or Modern Rock Charts.

---------
Corb Lund
---------
Alberta's own Juno and Canadian Country Music Award winner Corb Lund has
released five critically acclaimed country music albums since 1995 including
his most recent release Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier! (2007). Two of the
releases, Five Dollar Bill (2002) and Hair In My Eyes Like a Highland Steer
(2005), claimed Gold Album status in Canada. He's toured North America and
Australia extensively with his band, The Hurtin' Albertans, made up of bassist
Kurt Ciesla, guitarist Grant "Demon" Siemens, and drummer Brady Valgardson.

------------------
The Tragically Hip
------------------
Rock legends The Tragically Hip are one of the most popular and
influential bands in Canadian history. The group released their first album,
The Tragically Hip, in 1987 and have since released twelve albums, earning two
diamond certifications and twenty No. 1 hits in Canada. In 2002 they were
honoured with a star on Canada's Walk of Fame, inducted into the Canadian
Music Hall of Fame in 2005, and are this year's winners of the Governor
General's National Arts Centre Award. They've released 49 singles including
iconic songs like "New Orleans Is Sinking", "Ahead By A Century", and "Blow at
High Dough". They've won 14 Juno Awards, and have sold millions of records
worldwide.

------------
Matthew Good
------------
As one of the most popular Canadian alt-rock artists of the 90s, Matthew
Good released seven critically acclaimed studio albums. Since embarking on a
solo career in 2003, Good has released three studio albums and his most
recent, 2007's Hospital Music, debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian Album Chart.
Also well known for his writing, blogging, and political activism Matthew Good
has never been reserved about sharing his opinions and fighting for his
beliefs.

---------------
City and Colour
---------------
Already well known as rhythm guitarist and back up singer of
Alexisonfire, Dallas Green has had equal success as City and Colour. He's won
both the 2006 MMVA for People's Choice Favourite Canadian Artist for his debut
hit single "Save Your Scissors" and a 2007 Juno Award for Best Alternative
Album for his platinum-selling debut album Sometimes. His latest album, 2008's
Bring Me Your Love, debuted at No. 1 on iTunes and features a collaboration
with The Tragically Hip's Gordon Downie.

-----
Stars
-----
Just coming off of a fully sold-out Canadian tour, Juno Award nominated
indie pop rockers Stars' fourth full-length album was 2007's In Our Bedroom
After The War, and followed up on the success of 2004's smash Set Yourself on
Fire. Known for their eloquent lyrics and lush instrumentation, in early 2007
they released their first re-mix album, Do You Trust Your Friends, featuring
reinterpretations of their songs from fellow artists within the Canadian music
scene.

Do they have one headliner per day or something? I could really care less about most of those bands but STP, the Hip and Matt Good would be worth going to.

Ya, it's fairly old news. Slash already mentioned that they've been working with a new lead singer for a while now, but Scott had to stay on to fulfill contract obligations.

:werd:

i could care less about the other acts, but i'll gladly pay $130 to see these three acts.

on a side note, this better not be matt good's only stop in calgary, he is doing a cross country tour with a backing band, and doesn't have a calgary date scheduled yet. as this is a music festival, i doubt anyone but the main headliners get over an hour to play.
