It really depends on how far "not too far" is. But ya those are the main ones.

I like little bow... It's super cold almost everytime we are there, but it's rarely overcrowded

Predator Bay Waterski Club. It's just south of the Bow river when you're leaving Calgary on the Deerfoot southbound.

Little bow is my vote. Big lake so its never too crowded also only 1.5 hours south

little bow is sweet. a little cold, but rarely over crowded. Chestermere gets stupid busy in the summer

I've been to little bow but the weather there can change really fast and become really windy. We used to take the sea doos to ghost but when you fell in you'd get instant hypothermia. I'm hopin sylvan is decent. I seen glennifer on tv but it looked to be a private lake is that true?

glennifer isn't private, ive camped there with our boat for the past 3 summers. Its really warm by mid july, and its never busy, it's a couple hours out of town though.

there are quite a few that are close, ghost on a calm empty day is cool, better off to just to go out to shuswap for a few days
