Not exactly what I wanted to wake up to...my drive to work took about 4 times as long as it normally does, I enjoy driving a solid 25 - 30 km/hr the whole way :nut:

I wonder how many accidents there will be today

All the idiots who DID switch to summers getting stuck or driving 2k/hr or just crashing. I also made it about a mile before turning around and going back home.

I guess I should be happy I leave my house at 6:45 and there was almost no traffic.

I made that mistake changing it up during the weekend. I should have known it would snow, but one of my winter tires got a nail in the sidewall and I can't fix it, and I wouldn't be able to find winter tires this time around either. So I figure it's either running on my spare tire for another week or two or switch back to my summers.

I left my house at like 6:45 and got to work at around 7:15 ish, so it didn't really take me that long, but driving in the snow with summer tires really sucks! :banghead: :banghead:

Took me an hour and a half (round trip) to drop my sister off at the hospital, a usual 20 minute trip, its a nightmare on Elbow. Buses are stuck, cars are stuck (there was some kid in a 240 who needed about 4 people to help him, I was going to get out, but I only had skate shoes on so I would have been pretty useless) and it was just crawling. The hill by Britannia/Riverdale was just insane.

My guess is that its gone by 3 in the afternoon though, always seems to be the case.

Let the dog out at 5:45. Nothing at all. Got in my truck to go to work at 6:00 and it was light mist snow. I work 4 km away from home and it was DUMPING by the 4th km.

This looks amazing but driving is a catastrophe at best. Why do they keep forcasting rain when there's no damn way it's going to rain this early in the year? Even this morning they said this should turn into rain in the afternoon and then possibly thunder showers.

Yeah, I leave my house and it wasn't even snowing that hard, just a really light flurry, then it progressively got worse and worse as I got closer to work.

Snowfall warning for: City of Calgary
Issued at 8:13 AM MDT THURSDAY 10 APRIL 2008
10 TO 15 CM OF SNOW THIS MORNING.
AN INTENSE AND VERY LOCALIZED SNOW STORM HAS POSITIONED ITSELF OVER CALGARY. AMOUNTS OF 10 TO 15 CM CAN BE EXPECTED BEFORE THE SNOW TAPERS OFF LATER THIS MORNING. AREAS JUST TO THE EAST AND NORTH OF CALGARY MAY ALSO RECEIVE AMOUNTS OF 5 TO 10 CM.

....it was already snowing near 6am this morn and now they finally released this? haha way to tell the weather right.

I doubt any cars will show up for a detail so its back to sleep until classes at 2. Hopefully things won't be as bad or traffic will clear up by then...
