its not as serious as they thought last night. He's been released. Good on Flyer's coach John Stevens for understanding/ not bitching about the non call.

They were discussing if this play should be stopped or not, I personally think it should keep going unless someone was hit in the face, or cut with a skate...

They do wear cups (I know it would still kill) but this is why they get paid millions

there should be no debate at all as to whether the play should have been stopped. Even if a player is injured, the play only stops when the team with the injured player gains control of the puck. This play was a prime example of if the refs did stop the play, it would've negated a goal that should and did count. Refs made the right play on this one.

Well now that he is out of the hospital and ok, did anyone see the quick interview with him yesterday?

The reporter asked him what how his girlfriend felt about it or something and he said "shes glad the nuts are ok".

Actually, they've changed that, and the ref can blow the play dead whenever. Who forgets when Roenick earlier this year faked an injury while standing up (somehow) Iginla was on a breakaway, and Roenick just strides off in less than a minute after the play was blown dead. Crowd boos him, and he has the audacity to say that the fans were ignorant and rude, that he could have been injured. He forgot to mention we're smart fans and know that he was faking.

Back on topic though, WICKED comment by Thoresen.

If they've changed it, then still a good non-call by the refs. I liked the Mike Ribeiro rule, especially when the other team has a scoring opportunity.
