Well my start date at my new job got moved up, so now the time I was going to dedicate to swapping my engine as been lost. Could some reccomend a shop thats not to busy that would be willing to swap my engine and install a new fuelpump?
I already called speedtech, but they said it would be about a month before they could get me in.

Thanks

There is a philipino guy out there, I believe his name is Orlando but Im not positive. He knows alot about toyotas and is for hire, I would try and track him down. Paul over at strd knows him.

when i called jdmsource and asked if they had a connection for putting in a new engine they gave me orlando's number. I called him and he seemed pretty good. He said $1000 even to take out a gen 2 and put another gen 2 in.

You could also talk to red99600. The guy is freaking unreal. He does all the work on my mr2 now, really knows his stuff.:)

Is the engine all put together and accessories on?

Its a little more than just an engine swap. Just swapping the accessories over from the old engine, replacing gaskets, hoses, torque specs, etc. Would run about 8hrs.

I would say that job would cost around $2000 to get the engine back together, in and running.

Then $200 for the fuel pump swap on the MR2.

Just so you know what to expect, Tibor.

A gen II engine swap for $1000 is resonable. That's what I'd usually charge, not the quoted Maximus price of $10/hr.

Well then, I knew it was going to be pricey I was quoted 4g from a shop, so 2g's sounds tolerable (still going to sting my bank account). I don't really need to swap over that many things though becuase I'm puttin a new intake and exhaust mani on, and then new alternator and bracket. So all i need is the flywheel, oil cooler, filler neck and the coverings.

I just remember with my engine, it came back with just the block. So its the little things that get tedious to swap over.

4g's? I'd consider doing it for that if I can find some time. My hesitation would be that all the parts are there for install, like gaskets, vac lines and the little things.

oil cooler... you'd need a new HFH and the other by pass hose too. Some gasket maker would be good too just to make sure everything is sealed up. You can get away with re using the tin gasket on the oil cooler bolt. I found out the hard way, it goes to 58ft/lbs. Go figure.

try jdm tuners, they do swaps for around 800-1000 in about 2-3 days.
