What Would You Buy:
1. 2009 Civic SI( Has anyone heard if this will be s/c or turbo from factory soon?)
2. 2008 Cobalt SS(turbo 260hp 260ft) Snap all for $27k I know its a Cobalt but..
3. 2009 VW GTI( NEW for 2009 is K04 Turbo from the S3 and different internals)
They all have pros and cons...
Anything else that I have missed that is new in the same price range let me know.

#3 with a APR chip. Change the turbo and you can say good bye to your warrantee.

Option 1. Awesome engine, ridiculous potential.

The new cobalt turbo is going to be insanely fast... just check the ring numbers in the news forum.
i would probably buy the GTI though, i really like the look of them, and going that fast isnt a concern for me.

All three are great cars, but when you look at it, your asking people if you should drop 30K on a factory souped up civic, cobalt or golf.
Judging by your reasoning for selecting these models, performance is a factor. If that is the case, you might want to put that 30 K towards a slightly used non FWD car, as 30K will buy a lot more car in the used market.
