Kept it pretty low key instead of continually bumping the thread ;)

I went through a lot of shit to get this car (random crap kept popping up... dogs surgury, signing over my lease, etc)

I cant wait to pick it up tommorow :)

Congrats. You will definitely enjoy AWD in the snow we are having.

That is a quick little WRX. Aleks kept up very nicely with my STi when my car was still stock at Secret Street. You will certainly enjoy it just as it is. Come on over to www.westernsubaruclub.com if you havent already.

im seriously thinking about it for after school. How well do the WRX's take to mods as compared to the STI?

Parts between the 2 are interchangable, with the exception of suspension on the 05 - 07 STi, which are STi specific. The EJ25 is block is very torquey and the stock WRX TD04 spools very quickly on the 2.5 L. A downpipe and tune will yield 50 wtq easily, and around 20 - 30 whp over the stock ECU mapping and exhaust.

If you want to talk 1/4 mile numbers at Race City, This WRX was able to do a 14.1 - 14.2 @ 95 (96?) mph with a tune and TBE. My stock STi ran side by side, and was 13.8 @ 98 mph. A tune and TBE on my car gave me a best 13.4 @101 mph the following spring under similar conditions.

I know of a local 2006, 2.5L WRX wagon swapped with STi TMIC and VF39 (STi) turbo pushing 300 wtq and 275 whp on a Mustang dyno. Full spool by 3200 rpm, where the torque peak is and on the stock WRX injectors (which actually flow more than the 04 - 06 STi injectors). The owner hasn't been to Race City, but it should be faster than my STi. He's adding meth injection this year which I think will take him north of 300 whp with no additional mods other than a retune.

I've always loved the feel of torque in my cobalt over other cars ive driven (civics and what not) but the torque in the subaru is unreal. I honestly am blown away by the amount of grip i have in 100% snow and how much throw back this car has when you put your foot down.
