Hi. First post, hope this is in the right catergory.

I have an older JVC deck with a 12 disk I want to put in my Isuzu. I wired it in a it just flat out didn't work. I've installed a few stereos before but I'm no expert when something goes wrong.

It's hard to get it in and out of the car.

How do I test to see if it's my wiring, a fuse, the adapter, or if it's just plain dead without putting it back into the car each time? Is there a way to trouble shoot this (ie, hook it up to a power source) outside the car without blowing myself up?

Any good DIY manuals out there for this kind of thing? Thanks.

yes

hook black up to battery negative, hook red and yellow up to positive at the same time. Deck should work.

Well, the stereo works, seems to have been a loose connection or a faulty fuse. Which ever it was is now fixed, but when I went down to the car to install it I realized my car was vandalized last night. Looks like this will be a project for another day. :banghead:
