that dyno vid is almost scary. Side to side on a friggin dyno must be freaky for the driver.

what is really being highlighted is that it is the first evo to break the 1100 awhp and it is the most powerful in the world..guess to you anything over 1000hp is small fries:dunno:

Numbers like that don't impress me. All they're good for is bragging rights.

When on earth is anyone going to be able to use 1100hp in a street car? Or 1200hp? or 2000hp?

Congratulations on not being impressed by the most powerful evo in the world? You're right though, making over 1000hp is easy, just ask anyone! I'm sure the guys at AMS thought it was a walk in the park.

another

well for pure drag racing it is applicable.

of course that amount is not realistic for the street unless you want a quick death..

Maybe but I dunno why he would wana go RWD that would be defying everything he has stood for. :dunno:

But your right about about him taking a break he is taking this season off, so they can make the car capable of running 7.5's

Shep was talking to us the other day about some of his plans/ winter activities. He wasn't giving out many details, but it's def still awd.. A little lighter and a BUNCH SAFER.
That was his biggest thing the last couple yrs, things were starting to get hairy, and he has a young family. Great guy, down to earth and stops by a private board I'm on to help out and shoot the shit.

I'm trying to find the video looking down the track on one of runs where he wall to wall but still holds her straight.

I can't find the thread... hrmmm seems to be deleted.. odd

...or video

Bragging rights? This is a car enthusiast site. Speed, handling, & horsepower is what it's all about. If that doesn't impress you I suggest you join up to TallyMoms.com and find out which brand of detergent impresses you the most and which tampon absorb the best.

They have forums for everything now. Trading Betty Crocker recipes, detergents, etc. One of my brothers spends every day on a goaltending equipment forum lol.

From what I've seen so far they won't be able to get that kind of power out of the new 411B engine but getting to 400-500 hp will be easier than with the 4G63.

I was impressed the first time I heard about a car breaking 1000whp. But the effect is dulled when you hear that someone has broken the HP record every other week.

To me, building a car for the sole purpose of hitting record dyno numbers doesn't prove anything. So you have a 1200HP car. How long do you think it'll last before something blows? A few passes at the track?

I (and probably your average enthusiast) would rather have a 500HP car that would be reliable for years instead of a 1000HP car that wouldn't even be reliable for a few weeks.

I still don't know why they would switch out the 4G63 it's such an amazing motor and they've been using it for 19 years in Mitsus.

have you ever riden in a 1000+hp car ?
i rode in a 57 belair with 1236rwhp the rush is insane

i can build you a reliable 1000hp motor easy

632ci merlin with a 6-71 series blower on 6lbs of boost will make 1100hp on 92 octance gas ;)

big numbers with small displacement engines isnt about reliablility it's about pushing limits breaking them finding news one's being innovative and competitive

that's why i like imports you can still be competitive design your own stuff and you don't have to be a millionair

example i can compete with any of the top import boy's with a 150,000 dollar car

now how much more would it cost me to compete with the top fuel nitro methane rails???
