has anyone brought over $10,000 across the border (on a flight) ?

just wondering if customs, airlines, or whom ever else gave you any problems ?

their web page says you need to declare anything over $10,000. thats it . . .

I was wondering if anyone had personal experience .

I took over 20 grand on a plane.. Just go to Canadian customs before you go to the US customs and declare it. But I wouldnt do it again , to much hassle , just wire transfer.

As long as you declare the amount, they dont usually care. I have done it, why do you need that much cash anyway?

buying a car.

TD bank says if I wire transfer to an account in the US, the minimum wait time is 24 hours.

cash seems to be the easiest way to deal with a seller, but it is also the most dangerous...

Just took down close to 30k, you can take however much you want across as long as you declare it. Make sure when you do declare it to get a record of it because the Canadian side will hassle you on the way back. They for sure gave me a bit more trouble coming home because I suppose it looked a little suspicious.
