Anybody got any more information about this?

I only just got the email:

Early Sunday morning there was a drive-by shooting at the residential home of a University of Calgary student. Several shots were fired but there were no injuries. The information provided to the University today suggested that the perpetrator or perpetrators had threatened to come to campus looking for the student. As a precaution, the University requested that City Police attend campus. Campus Security was also increased. Two exams were postponed and will be rescheduled.

^All course outlines i have gotten stated, i should always make my schedule available from the start of exams to the last day of exams. However, that really sucks she missed her Mexico flight, especially in this crappy weather.

One of my exams was cancelled yesterday because of the "security concern" and I have travel plans, but they told all of us not to cancel them when a few of us wen to the registrars office. The U of C has to re-arrange an exam to suit your schedule, because right now I think the exams are supposed to take place on May 1, after the end of the semester.

I had an exam yesterday and it wasn't cancelled and I know some people had one yesterday at 8am :dunno: Why would they cancel some but not all?

probably because when whoever brought his deferral form, it was possibly later in the day, allowing the early exam to still go on.

They probably just cancelled the exams that the target of the shootings was writing.

There were two exams at 12pm, management studies and computer science, in the Red and Gold Gyms. Not sure which exam the affected student was supposed to be in, but they cancelled both as a precaution even though I don't think there was any threat at all of the people coming to school and shooting up the place.

- Business students aren't the only ones who take computer science. The kid could have been in this exam or MGIS, no one knows

I was in the Kines building for an exam at 12PM on Monday. The tests were definitely not cancelled. I wrote in Aux, and people were lining up for Red and Gold. Maybe you mean the ones at 8pm were cancelled?

Ones at 12pm in Red/Gold were cancelled because the "target" guy was in one of those classes. My friend was waiting too to get in @ 12pm, but the police/security showed up....now their exam is moved to May 1st.
