I am an engineer that can make / modify anything with extreme accuracy out of any material (preferably steel / aluminium). Any ideas for projects or needs for certain applications, im your man. Please post positive ideas, if you have a project that needs custom anything (motor mounts, conversion plates or brackets, replacement parts) or if you want some sweet 1-off covers (valve, sparkplug, ...) let me know - i can certainly help

What do you have? Lathe, mill, dual axis...?

Hey wanna fab me up a bumper dumper?

http://members.shaw.ca/mdonovan/bumperdumper.jpg

I'd weld one up for myself but they won't let us fab up our own shit from the scrap at school. Not to mention a CNC'd bumper dumper would be epic. I don't quite know how you'd manage it, but it'd sure be cool.

I'd honestly pay you like $30 for making me one (plus whatever the cost of materials is). If I could get it chromed for cheap I'd pay for that too.

Please consider this. It's easy money for the amount of work involved.

I have 5 - 3 axis machines, gantry style with unlimited tooling, and size is not really a factor (7'x12' cutting area)- accurate to 0.0001

Sounds good to me. PM me your shop rate. I don't have anything for you right now, but we might in the future.

Do you accept AutoCAD and inventor models?

RB20DET - Nissan. Would like to know cost on valve covers, spark cover, and the timing sensor cover.

You want him to make you a valve cover?

gretz
04-23-2008, 03:49 PM
I can make a valve cover - the blank of aluminium will be more than ... if you have lotsa money, i can (not recommended)
As for spark/timing covers - send me a blueprint (ive made covers for sr20 and b16/b18 for JDMsource)
Im super reasonable and like helping with projects, price will be determined after i find out what you want -
What do you want as a design/say/shapes/pockets/bores/letterng/finish/..... i cant quote you on an apple when you want an orange

So if I supply a drawing you could whip anything off?

I use solidworks.

i could whip off anything to an extent - ive been asked to machine out rims and blocks... be serious when need something made - its not just plug and play - (i wish). Consider the fixture needed to machine the part you want ie. larger parts = larger pockets

sr240sx - your sr coil cover is done - looks mint

anyone else need anything done / projects, im free to do some machining this week
(i have another sr cover shaped and ready to be customized)

like 97'Scort asked, will you accept AutoCAD .dwg files?

gretz
07-07-2008, 01:04 PM
yes, i do

gretz
07-07-2008, 01:20 PM
i also make custom emblems as well
AutoCAD drawings are useable, a blueprint will work fine as well

gretz

No, no - realistically +/-0.0005
i have adjustments of 0.0001, but, you need precision tooling

I've got a piece I need done: aluminum with a couple of odd angles. I'll get you an autoCAD drawing.

Can you pm me your e-mail again? I'm not with the same company anymore.

send me any drawing from a hand sketched POS in paint to an inventor auto file. Make sure it is dimensioned for what you want it to be

Hey Gretz are you an iv user or a sw user?

I am using iv series 09 atm

SprayGUN
09-12-2008, 12:47 PM
I want to know how much for a custom valve cover. I don't like the one that comes with my 2.5L that Dodge made. I can draw one up and get the dimensions or even make it out of cardboard and bondo, I just need to know how much to cnc....that would be awesome :)

gretz
09-12-2008, 01:04 PM
draw something up for me, price will depend on size for the most part. What are the blank dimensions (LxWxH) - ill be able to give you a quote from there

Unknown303
09-12-2008, 01:42 PM
the two pieces I'm looking at would be;

62mm x 62mm x 12mm

and

40mm x 40mm x 12mm

These will be two gears so the doubled up numbers are the diameters 12mm thick.

gretz
09-12-2008, 01:55 PM
how many teeth/cogs - is it a pulley or a gear?
i need the tooth details

Unknown303
09-12-2008, 01:57 PM
Both gears 10mm internal diameter with39 teeth on large gear and 24 teeth on small gear. Could be two more gears that I'd need as well. The shaft is also notched which I have to measure still.

Just measured and the shaft is 10mm diameter with two flat sides measuring 8mm between the two sides.

Unknown303
09-12-2008, 02:01 PM
Picture of shaft... yeah paint I know..

gretz
09-12-2008, 02:03 PM
how large are the teeth?
what is the pitch of the threads? - are there radius' needed on the ends of the teeth or... I need all the details of everything (i need to make it exactly what you want)
A 10mm shaft and 10mm ID of the gears, what tolerance? Is there a key way? Do the gears need to be 10mm+.02mm...
pm me - its probably easier

gretz
09-12-2008, 02:04 PM
Edit:pitch of the teeth

Out of curiosity, can you cut high density foam for shapes and signs?
