I'm trying to install a new drive so I need to create a new partition on it and I can't find anything in XP that will let me do it. And where did they hide fdisk?

boot from the windows XP cd - I don't quite remember the menu, but the formatting/partitioning software is there and you should be able to find it somewhere. Check the XP manual, it is there. Otherwise, hit the website of the drive manufacturer and grab a copy of their partitioning/formatting software which you should be able to copy onto a floppy disk and boot from.

The file download problem comes from the websites you visit. Do you clear your browser's cache regularly? Maybe that's why it's running slow (or you're using up all your RAM).

If you think your comp has a virus, go to this website: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/

Scroll down and click on "Check for Security Risks". A pop-up will show up, and from there click "Virus Detection".

I ended up getting Partition Magic, worked like a charm, thanks for the help!
