The longest I have held my breath for was 3min 20sec.

David Blaine just broke the world record by holding is breath for more then 17 minutes. :eek:

It was live and witnessed by Guiness book of World Records. It was legit.

My lungs used to be waaaay better. Now, probably 2 minutes tops if I was stationary and relaxed. Not too long ago I could for well over 3 minutes.

I can only hold my breath for as long as the time it takes between Hampstor farting in the car and me opening the window all the way. :rofl:

Hyperventilating before you hold your breath can easily give you upwards of an extra minute ;)

You have to remember that he was on pure oxygen for 30 minutes before the attempt and inhaled pure oxygen for his final breath before the attempt.

He tried breaking the 8m58s record (not using pure oxygen) and made it to 7 minutes before he starting convulsing, went unconscious and was rescued

When i was younger 3 1/2 min. Now maybe little over 2 min. But 17 min.:eek:

he just did that today on oprah show...watched it today


yeah hew as one O2 for half hour and then went in to it...

he did it for 17:04:04 i believed
